This is a fair grievance, but its also incredibly effective at protecting against spam alts and bots. The server is already dealing with a lot of people trying to start problems, if we didn't have an sms 2fa requirement it would be 10x worse easily. On that note, we will keep in mind alternatives in the future after things slow down and at the moment, if you send your username in this thread I'll manually verify it.
