Heir and Maid both are both in service of their aspect. The difference between being controlled by something and embodying something is not that large; you could draw comparison between how Aradia is at the whims of time with how Mituna later embodies Doom, for example.

All maid and heir characters endup having too much of their aspect - Equius get mega irrelevant and dies of lack of air, Aradia follows blindly the alpha timeline's design, John gets so free from reality he gets depressive in the epilogues, etc. Pairing them makes sense to me, but I'm not an expert on either class.
