So it's not that people are getting offended by you pointing out the negatives of the characters, it's that what you conceptualize as negative about them is offensive.
I've already talked about the potential for the text to be subtextually arguing that Dagger has transmisogynistic viewpoints, many people have talked about how Dagger's nymph friends seem to be transphobic towards him, Swiss is racist, etc.
These are qualitatively different than you saying the text is making the argument that Dagger is faking being trans and you're missing the nuance of what the flaws are in his veneration of satyr society, which is kind of difficult for me to articulate here given our baseline understandings of transgender 101 are not aligned.
