EPISODE 9: "The Abstinence"

George gets really really smart.

This episode contains the notorious "funniest joke in all of Seinfeld", which is just Elaine laughing and clapping at some spinning tyres. They weren't kidding, that was FUNNY. They started doing a lot of meta jokes this season, with the Bizarros previously, the Jerry and Kramer personality swap, and now making George a genius. I mean I suppose it WAS a worldwide sensation at that point so people were familiar enough with the characters that they felt comfortable doing jokes entirely based off of subverting those established characters.

Also the guy from Better Call Saul is in this one. Mr. Saul himself. Unfortunately he doesn't return again unlike his cousin Mr. Bad, but he's still pretty funny this episode. Also Jerry's condescending agent reappears, but comparably a smaller role than her previous appearances, which I think serves the plot well. She just exists to get Jerry a whole assembly and promptly leaves.

Oh also, Jackie Chiles is back. They sure have a lot of side characters in this episode, huh? A really jam-packed episode, this one was...

4/5 STARS ★★★★☆

EPISODE 10: "The Andrea Doria"

Therian Kramer episode.

The joke is that Kramer starts acting like a dog and everyone just doesn't question it. It's really really good. Also, this is a more Newman centric-episode, which I am always a fan of. This punchline of "Jerry did a bad job at being a postman because too many people got their mail" will always be such a good punchline.

One thing I must say is that George's plot takes up wayyyy to much time in this episode. All he does is tell his entire life story to a tenant’s association, and yet he gets like half the screen-time. Some scenes could have definitely been cut.

Oh, also, I did not know that the Andrea Doria was an actual ship that sank. Makes George going "That's it???" to the death count pretty funny in retrospect. If Seinfeld was made today they would do this episode but about another tragedy I think.

EPISODE 11: "The Little Jerry"

The gang get into cock fighting.

The part where George goes "You're in jail??? That's so COOL!!" in like a high pitched squeaky voice always gets me. Also I enjoy both Jerry and Kramer getting into training the titular rooster for cock fighting is charming. There's just some really good dialogue and deliveries overall in this episode.

The Elaine plotline, however, is just kind of a slog to get through. However, the rest of this episode is very good.

EPISODE 12: "The Money"

Kramer has to deal with the "Jimmy Legs".

They bring back J. Peterman in this one, and, like, they couldn't even give Elaine a whole SEASON of being the boss of some big company? Why? I mean aside from the obvious misogyny. He's not even really that funny in this one...

Jack Klompus is back in this episode, and I have to say, he might be the most underrated side character of this show. He's just such a sleazeball. An elderly sleazeball.

I also love the running bit of Jerry's parents constantly thinking he's going broke. Jerry's parents are just some good characters in general tbh. The other plotlines in this are kinda just boring, though.

3/5 STARS ★★★☆☆

Until next time....
