I would up recording some of Swiss's dialogue. He's got an interesting voice. Types like the narrator, a bit of a flat effect but still gay with it.

this made me read the update instead of doing my 3d animation assignments i cant read past the omegaverse chart god. i need a minute to process (+finish my work)

this upd8 is only 5 pages and yet. there is so so so much to pick apart...i made a whooole blogpost about it...the Implications...

im sitting here vaguely horrified trying to determine if the alpha-beta-omega chart is meant to be a system of romance or some other alien facet of satyr society. it might be both their quadrants and their hemospectrum with a dash of mpreg and eugenics, a system of oppression as well as reproduction like actual omegaverse fiction- though knowing homestuck, im certain that its not just going to be a carbon-copy of the concept and theyre gonna get fucky with it.

It's Dirk. There's an extremely elaborate explanation as to why it's different from omegaverse, but it's literally just omegaverse.

Okay, I finally looked up an actual cursory explanation of omegaverse after one million years, because it's required reading now.

Didn't really imagine it would just be domtop/subbottom with an extra category for normies? This hardly feels that scandalous after all. Swiss just wants to fuck TC hard. But placing CT on the chart suggests it's optimal in this system, for Swiss at least, to have a beta there with the two of you. So is CT just gonna sit on a cuck chair or what? I don't know about the omegaverse stuff but this is just pushing my theory more that Rose made a race of all female tentacle lesbians and Dirk made a race of all male gay MLP's. The ABO of the saytrs is probably how he made he gay kids able to reproduce as a species cause isn't mpreg a big part of ABO?

I had this revelation while driving. Omegaverse Satyrs makes complete sense because their architecture seems to be modeled after ancient Greece, and α, β, and Ω are greek letters

God I hope that it really is just omegaverse. Additionally, it'd be so funny if the Satyrs had a complicated romance system incomprehensible to humans (ala leprechauns) but then Nymph romance was literally just like... you either like someone, you love someone, or you hate someone.

ADDDDDDDITIONALLY, the Alpha, Beta and Omega fraternity throuple chart not only references/alludes to the three generations of protagonist (remember, these are the omega kids... or are the candy kids the omega kids and these the deltritus kids? whatever, names are stupid!!!) but also continues the PATTERN OF 3 that permeates Satyr lore thus far (there's 3 kinds of morphtypes with a hypothesized fourth, there's 3 tiers of fraternity with a forgotten and long-dead fourth, Swiss wants to keep his best bros in a three-way and doesn't like the idea of adding more people into his social circle... it's funny because bees, as everyone as pointed out, are associated with Sollux, whose whole thing was DUALITY).

Also, Ly'Lac complains about the commands but laments the mysteriousness of their existence and wishes she could respond to them while Swiss actively argues with his exile (presumably Meat!Jane). ALSO ALSO, Swiss confirms that championsTirade is male and party of the Satyr team... cloisteredConnosewer was confirmed male in the last Ly'Lac update as well, which means that among the Deltritus side of the new session, there's a gender imbalance (4 male and 2 female). Then again, we've also seen that CC appears to also be a Satyr but is pushed onto the Nymph team implicitly by Swiss in this update... something something gender identity Calliope parallel. Someone who's better and more knowledgeable at putting these things into context can explain it...

ONE FINAL ALSO: Swiss does that one famous anime pose on page 892 after flash-stepping around, and his and TC's rap-argument sounds like something out of Hamilton, which fits the symbols of political power that surround Swiss. The Hamilton thing, I mean. Not the anime pose. That's the one Susie did in deltarune Chapter 2 as well. I don't rember the name of it. Someone who's better and more knowledgeable at putting these things into context can explain it...(x2)

Hi Omegaverse knower here and just as a heads ups don't abbreviate it as a/b/o without the slashes since that's a slur against the aboriginal people!!! Very important Omegaverse etiquette to know before talking about it.

Anyway Swiss acts more like the Omega than TC does so the chart is probably just wishful thinking (and knowing Swiss a bit better now, a really outdated way of relationship dynamics)

the way irl fraternities are named going into an elaborate(or perhaps straightforward?) omegaverse bit is so obvious that like yes of course that’s what they are doing

HOWEVER

and here comes my big hot take okay I never liked omegaverse because it is Just shitty werewolf pack dynamics based on that longstanding misunderstanding of how wolves Work and a number of the associated furry kinks that go with that… but with the furry Essence completely taken away! like okay I haven’t attempted to read anything omegaverse since like… a pokemon BW fanfic in 2015 maybe? so I’m sure the genre Evolved but it felt So much like “these furries are onto something but furries are Icky and Gross so let’s just tone things down a little” and omegaverse is not the only thing of that nature I’ve seen get all the Weird Furry Essence sucked out of it but I think it unwise to go into that even if it would bolster my argument… but my point is. These are… okay I’m not gonna get my chart bc I’m on mobile but sayrs are (from what I can tell anyway) a ~50/50 split creature which is a grey area which puts them More than kemonomimi (except for some older anime examples that are a style you never see anymore but I’m making note of just to be thorough) but less than what is typically expected as “furry” However this gray area is generally welcomed into furry subculture with open arms (and sometimes adding a bit more Creature into renditions. think of how there are like cutesy mermaids for kid shows and then ones that ppl design that incorporate more fishy elements, or the endless debate on what even Is the wolf form of a werewolf or similar shifter/were type thing). I PROMISE IM GETTING SOMEWHERE I JUST keep feeling the need to explain and add contex. So basically there’s too much Animal-to-Human trait ratio for me to expect the image of omegaverse works I have in my mind and that if/when this is ever explained it’s going to be Wackier and Weirder and put some of that furry essence back in. this idea I think is further strengthened by the fact that this is a homestuck work. Homestuck which perhaps infamously was so Weird but also Just Vague Enough about alien reproduction that people went absolutely specbio (or Xeno if you rather) sicko mode. Like Homestuck being probably The most furry-in-practice fandom I have ever been in like genuinely it’s 5x moreso than Splatoon. I have been routinely disappointed in what the Splatoon fandom offers in regard to shoving weird little species based quirks into fanwork . surreal.

basically i don’t think they are gonna play it straight (heh) and even if they do i have full confidence that once the OCs come pouring in the fans sure won’t.

(also I wish I had a better way to describe these phenomenon than “lacking furry essence” or being “furry in practice“ because it’s less about being Anthropomorphic Creatures and more about the subculture itself and how it approaches these things which is so hard to put into words.(I guess maybe it’s kinda like how you could tell a lot of 100gecs fans never touched furry EDM in their lives bc of how they kept going on about how Weird it is but there’s So much shared dna (is that even in any way a relatable experience)))
