One of my favorite gimmicks in Homestuck is its use of significant numbers. The 413s, the 612s, the 1025s that pop up as a result of 413 + 612; and the 11s.
I am surprised no one has brought this up yet, but it is already guaranteed 8 and 1 are the next significant numbers.
Now I go into speculation territory:
- File A(10)(8) might be relevant. Bit of an odd file name, right?
- Could 15 years = 8 or 10 "syzygic recitals?"
- Could the "several thousand tidal turns" of life Ly'lac lived through be eight thousand title turns?
- The 01 in 8:01 could be flipped around to be 10. Possible reference to SHURB having 10 players? (Delta kids + Omega kids = 10)
- Perhaps satyrs will debut on October 8th (10/8) or January 8th (1/8)?
- Ly'lac would have to enter the medium within 8 minutes and 1 second.

There is also the possibility Satyrs debut on a date that does not contain an eight or a one. Could that debut date also become a reoccurring number?

The number associated with the beta kids is 413. There are four beta kids, each 13 years old. The number associated with the Alternia trolls is 612. There are 12 trolls, each 6 sweeps old. Clearly, this will either be a one person session with an eight year old, or an eight person session with one year olds.
Except that it already says that Ly'lac is several thousand tidal turns old, which is 15 human years. This means, obviously, that we are going to go back in time so the game can start with players that are a couple earth days old.
Your brain is so genius sloth_army i cant wait to go back in time to the first thanksgiving for the one person session with an eight year old, or the eight person session with one year olds.

Beyond Canon (as distinct from HS^2), started on October 8 (10 8). You can see some examples of 108 showing up here:

Ooo so the references started before, I didn't notice so thanks for pointing that out!
I slept and woke up thinking about this (lol) and I thought that maybe it's a reference to Vriska? October used to be the eighth month of the year, hence the "octo-" prefix.
