( I actually don't like how this turned out, and I just wrote it in a span of 7 minutes so dont expect it to be too well written or anything lol. )- AL![]()
ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT before I start, no I am not dogging on anyone or any of that. this is an honest opinion. Also, I feel like I havent used this account in SO long, lol. but I feel like I need to rant about this. maybe this is something that has been gone over so many times that its useless to discuss, but um, I want to discuss it! so!
the alpha Kids AND Dancestors are useless. we all know that. they are all poorly written characters. they were thrown in to give the story more depth. they are all over-analyzed by fans ( myself included, lol. ) They just overall ARENT good or well written characters that hussie just threw in to make up for his poor writing, yadda yadda yadda, etc etc.
I feel like this is something I say a lot to my other Homestuck friends I talk to online. I think that a lot of other people say this as well. but the thing is,,
I feel like people just in general take things way to serious with homestuck. I mean, the entire comic is a joke that he tried at some points to warp into a more 'serious' thing but,, failed obviously lol. like, I see so many people say how dirk is 'good gay rep' but that's just not true??????? as a queer person lmao? most of dirks "gay rep'" is all just what the fans interpreted out of him. like yea, hes a gay dude. that doesn't mean he's any sort of good representation. I doubt hussie wrote his character with the intent of making him have "good gay rep'. I feel like most of the "representation" in Homestuck is all based off of fan interpretations and how they make it out to seem in their heads. I think that Homestuck is taken far too seriously at points.
alright, now let me backtrack lol. I've been into the comic for quite a few years. I ALSO used to take it far too seriously and used to do/say exactly what I just spoke negatively on. And no, there's nothing wrong if you want to express yourself through these characters or through the comic. there's nothing wrong if you just enjoy making angst out of things. I was the exact same a few years back. I personally DO enjoy angst & expressing myself through the characters/comic. However, that is not what I am against. what I am saying is that its just sort of silly to turn it into this serious thing whenever it started purely as a joke.
>> tew school for cool.
