Hello. Yes. Anybody here a fan of the zero escape games? I recently played through and finished the trilogy and Ive been ITCHING to talk about it with other people. What was your favorite game? Do you have a favorite character? IS life simply unfair?
Yeah! It's been quite a while so my memory is a bit fuzzy, though. I only played 999 and Virtue's Last Reward since I remember seeing a lot of people say that the third game wasn't nearly as good.
I think over all I preferred 999 but VLR had some incredible twists -- it really plays on your assumptions in just the right way that a mystery should ^w^
I loved Clover and Snake. Clover was 100% justified in those endings of 999 and you can't change my mind. Pop off girl.
i only played 999, meant to do VLR but didn't get around to it. maybe one day. great first game.
the epilogues are the best part of homestuck
RE: Passeri Informal - you gotta go finish the series! Zero time dilemma isn't a perfect game, but I think its a good conclusion to the series. You have to play it at least once. The beginning is a bit confusing and I think the game isn't as solid as the other two, but still! I think its probably the best character work out of the three games, and at the very least its worth it to see characters arcs finish up and conclude.
RE: Lowe Shawthorn - You should give it a shot. A lot of people I know call it "the best game the director ever made", at the very least give it a shot if you liked the first game. Whats the worst that can happen?
I played the trilogy like as they were coming out. Project Bluebird to convince the studio finishing the trilogy was worth it? Participant.
Snake and Santa are easy favs even if that shows a first game bias. I never did but at one point I wanted to make a fantroll that was a riff on Zero III in both bunny theme and manner of speech. Oh come to think of it I’ll put K and Quark up there in favs… oh and Phi too… idk man these games are good. The third one is a lil rough around the edges but given that it almost didn’t get made I’ll take it lol
And agree on clover being justified in those endings even if I kept accidentally walking into them… I kept physical notes while playing 999 idk where they are I’ve moved twice since then but it’s just one of those games. The timelines in the later games makes things so much easier to keep track of lmaoo. OH and I nearly forgot at one point I planned on doing a Clover cosplay with a friend of a friend as Snake since he’s like Tall tall and I’m a bit short but that fell through sadly we don’t even keep in touch anymore :( (nothing bad happened just what happens when u move cross country sometimes)
OH FUCK I HAVE ONE OF THE WATCHES IDK IF I HAVE A PHOTO AND ITS DISPLAYED HIGH UP UUUH
Pic is From 2022 but we got there. I got it for p cheap on eBay bc when you turn it on it has some color blotches and it starts running slow p quickly so it’s really more of a decorative trinket than an actual watch. But like. It does work
re:Kit Kitthrin, yeah okay. You're probably right lol. Perhaps this thread was just what I needed after all these years to motivate me to go back and finish the series out...
re:Autumn, that watch is sick! :0 Even if it ain't perfect I'm amazed that a replica works at all lmao
AUTUMN THAT WATCH IS SO SICK!!!!! Wow thats so neat, is it official merch or is it fan made? Either way thats really cool.
yeah it’s official! they made watches in 3 colors (yellow the most common) as like super special preorder bonus type things?? And the color you got was random. Like I said I got mine on eBay knowing it wasnt perfect condition so I can’t say I got it the Intended way :P
Alsooo I’m p sure 999 watches are out there too but I don’t remember if they did anything similar for ZTD if I’m being honest :X
oh and I forgot to mention you can’t tell from the pic but that thing is Huge on me. I can slip it right off my wrist lmao I have tiny hands and thin wrists tho…
I love Zero Escape!!! To be vague spoilerways I find the Ultself adjacent ideas surrounding the main antagonist of 999 and VLR in particular really compelling.
'"I thought this was a love story," you say.
Your Lola's insistence has remained with you since the beginning, and you say these words in a quiet manner, with a shrug, as if to let these performers know it is fine, it does not matter that much, this thought—that maybe the definition of what a love story is could be stretched to include all that has up till now taken place. You say it like an apology. Like it is a thing to be apologized for.
A runaway child, charging through the porcelain shelves:
I thought this was a love story. I had hoped this was a love story.
You say it with shame, embarrassed at having said it, wishing you could take it back.
You say it, worried that you have betrayed some secret part of yourself that does not wish to be exposed—
an old gremlin in you, sick and yearning. You say it with hope.
Timid, and without conviction.
The hope of someone who knows they are about to wake from a dream to a reality they do not understand. The pub awaits, as does your empty bed.
I thought this was a love story.
You regret having said it; as if you know it will lessen the quality of the tale. Rob it of its smoke and shadow. But still, you say it.
And this moonlit body smiles. And from the wings the patting of the drums slowly builds, and the curtains behind the dancers rise. Because you are right, this moonlit body tells you;
This is indeed a love story. Down to the blade-dented bone.'

"I don't care if the best I can hope for is half of what I want. I'm not here for a realistic outcome. I'm just going to fight! Forever! With perfect greed! Until I get everything!"
-Saturn, Heaven will be Mine
Oh absolutely taz! While playing through it myself, I was struck on how much the game reminded me of homestuck (though I attributed that to also rereading homestuck during my playthroughs lol). Especially with what was going on with zero 3 in vlr and ztd.
