I like LOVE porrim and latula, and dont cancel me i really like meenah, and i also really like damara and also kankri and mituna and i like meulin and kurloz is growing on me a lot

The Dancestors are great. Openbound is way, way underrated, the ability to do that much storytelling and character building in that small an amount of space is nothing short of a miracle. Porrim and Latula are obviously the absolute best, but all of them are well-done except for Damara--who I think works great as a CONCEPT for a character, as a foil for Aradia and as someone who doesn't believe at all in the vague goals being pursued by others, but, it's just unfortunate that said character is filtered through the lens of racism and immature humor. And even the intolerable ones like Kankri are fun, interesting, and memorable.

(Btw. I call them Alpha trolls here because "dancestor" describes a familial relationship, not a group)

Yes!!! I actually really like the alpha trolls as characters. There are some issues in terms of writing, the way Damara was written was a pretty disgusting racial caricature, and that's inexcusable. At the same time, Damara deserves the world. Damara Megido did nothing wrong. A lot of them are shitty assholes, but in a way that's still interesting. Kankri is a good reflection of Beforus politics. Like, he's a misogynistic fake-woke asshole, but his dialogue can be genuinely interesting. You know. From a sociological perspective. I've talked before about how much I like Mituna, and how he is genuinely good representation in my opinion. Rufioh is interesting cause he's like if you took that one conversation between Tavros and Jade and made it 10x weirder and then made it his personality. he's the worst. Porrim is one of the highlights. She's funny, smart, and kind of the only normal one. She calls Kankri out on his bullshit, and it's really good to have an openly feminist character without making her a weird caricature that is there to be made fun of. People are weird about her, though. Latula is, again, really cool and good representation for OCD. I don't have OCD myself, but I know a lot of people who do, and from my (admittedly not that important) perspective, she was definitely ahead of her time. I know a lot of people with OCD are sick of characters with OCD where the only representation is like, cleaning. Her typing quirk being a compulsion is such a cool detail. I enjoy reading Aranea's rants, I like that one scene where she talks with Terezi about agency. It's a cool showcase of how the light and mind aspect can overlap. I don't want to talk about horuss. Meenah is also really interesting. She's kind of like what a lot of people think Vriska is. That being said I guess I have to give the obligatory mention that as a person she is terrible and a groomer. I think we're all on the same page about this. Anyway, I think I used the word "interesting" way too much here

im a big araneahead i miss her even though she needs to stay farrrr away from any type of relevance forever . also a big fan of porrim and latula , latula especially i feel goes overlooked . shes got a lot of interesting shit going on under the surface ...

helll yeahhh. i love the alpha trolls and even though a lot of them are assholes i think that makes them more interesting! i think the fandom tends to flatten them down beyond even what hussie did, but the meenahquest/openbound genuinely has some really interesting lore!! they get mischaracterized to hell and back which makes me wonder if people even played their section, like why do people still treat porrim as sex-crazy or horuss as sweet or mituna as childish, etc etc

You're absolutely right about people not even playing it. I think the "just skip the intermissions" mindset was and is alive and well in parts of the homestuck fandom even when it comes to one of the most fun intermissions. Sad!

I love the dancestors, it's unfortunate we didn't see much of them but I also love that. They're basically sandbox characters with a starting base, so much possibilities! My absolute favorite character is literally Aranea so you can guess how I feel about the rest hopefully. XD

If you asked for a Dancestor fan, you've automatically got me in your ball park! They've got so much potential, but they're so poorly done and they ALL GENUINELY SUCK as people so bad. What a group of ragtag wasted potentials, I'm in!!

I'm ready to be killed for this take but I absolutely love Meenah. Is she a good person? No. Does she have some of the funniest writing and dialogue in the entire comic? Yes.
