Auspisticism Thread

My brother does a very interesting twist on ausipicticism between three of his OCs.

Two are matesprits, and have an adoptive child, but they actually make for really immature and reckless parents due to their personalities, both to them and their child, so there's a third one who enters as the auspistice to the two parents to not only keep them in check but make sure they're responsible in their job as parents.

I love auspisticisms that aren’t just a pitch pair with a mediator! Parenting as an ashen trio isn’t something I’ve seen explored before. I’d love to hear more!

I used to have homestuck ocs that later got turned to non homestuck, but when they were homestuck they all were in the ashen quadrant and took turns between mediating between each other. and yeah they ended up being parents too lol. my ocs consisted of two human characters and one troll

I know auspisticism is def not gonna return for the new aliens but one can only cope hope there is an actual stable ashen relationship cus the ones in the comic were a hot mess iirc, and not permanent at all, which is rlly disappointing to see! I think that's why auspisticism is so underrated. VrisRoseMary seems to be a good relationship tho, iirc Vriska was the one to help Rose stop drinking in the retcon timeline, so I'd say that's the ashen ship based on canon I support! :]

i love auspisticism, its so interesting as a concept, i have a few ocs with ashen relationships and its really fun to play around with :D it is kinda sad its so underutilized but like. its understandable. its pretty complicated and unique in comparison to the other three quadrants lol

Ashen coparenting isn’t something I’ve really considered before! It’d be cool to hear more about how that dynamic play out!

I also really hope we get another canon ashen ship. I’m still holding out for ashen VrisRoseMary being a thing in Beyond Canon! ^u^

Yeah! Auspisticism being so unique is something I love. Playing with different dynamics (like 2 people auspisticisms like JadeKat or delving into polyamorous auspisticisms with someone being in multiple auspisticisms at once) is my bread and butter when it comes to fantroll RP lol

EquiDaveTav with equius as the auspistice (with equidave as pale and davetav as pitch) is my go-to rn

such a fun and cool concept when people don't completely misunderstand it as "an extra guy involved in your kismesissitude" or "counsellor who stops trolls from doing troll violence to each other"

I completely agree! those are both pretty common misconceptions people have about auspisticism, but it’s so much more! One big thing people ignore is the vacillation- that often these trolls may feel flush for each other at times.

Additionally, being someone’s couples counselor is such a completely different job than being an auspistice. Like a good counselor should be nonjudgmental, honest, and open. An auspistice can judge, lie, and be closed off if they so choose (though I imagine it’s harder to form relationships that way), without necessarily adhering to ethical standards. In fact, plenty are probably pretty unethical, given everything about trolls.

I feel like crowbar as an auspice of crowbar and spades slick would've been a really fun dynamic, especially since leprechaun romance doesn't work like that. Yet crowbar is an old hat at managing impossible situations and as seen in the most recent intermission, seems to be a person who lives for drama. I think that is the most important trait in a middle leaf.

chiming in on this with erisolrox with roxy as the auspistice for their kismesis. ive had it going with a few friends of mine in an RP and its fucking lovely

I'm assuming you mean Crowbar auspisticizing for Spades Slick and Snowman, rather than between himself and Spades Slick? Which is pretty interesting to think about, especially considering we already see Doc Scratch (badly, unethically even) mediate for them at one point. So to see the contract would be cool!

Unless of course you did mean Crowbar/Crowbar/Spades Slick, in which case I am interested in the time shenanigans that led to that pairing more than I am interested in the pairing itself lol I can only imagine it was beautiful and utterly hilarious.

Nothing is so lovely as building up fondness for a ship via roleplay. My roleplay experience is more in line of fantrolls, but I imagine the concept is the same for canon characters. I can think of half a dozen ashen ships that I love that I only really talk to my fantroll RP friends about due to them being entirely fantroll x fantroll ships.
