Been helping new fans all day

Yes, it's so cool! I'm working on a Homestuck website right now, I can't wait to finish it so it can become a proper showing of love for modern fan content.

Wait, the website is actually being worked on? That was my big concern, Im glad to have new fans and maybe this is a bit gatekeepy but I would rather them read the OG comic than be fans just because of the new animated pilot. So its great that the site is being made more accessible

The influx of hate and jokes coming from most people on social media sucks ass, but at least we get some people who are genuinely curious about it. I'm hoping that once the pilot is out and people actually watch it things won't be as bad.

this is EXACTLY what i was talking about. this pilot can be the shittiest thing ever. okay? BUT its gonna bring so many new fans. its literally gonna be a renaissance. the first time homestuck was ever relevant in pop culture since like, 2014

There seems to be an influx of new readers who are under the impression that the whole comic is just gone now or whatever lol and it doesn't help that the angry mob are not really sending links to it and are instead spending time trying to rile other people up into being angry. But because the new fans are new and have no idea who the fuck Andrew Hussie or Gio is, what results is an incredibly bad game of telephone where they just have to guess what's actually going on. So far, the consensus seems to be that "Andrew Hussie is suing anyone trying to host the original comic and is trying to take all of the mirrors down."

I don't know where this sentiment came from, I don't know how we went from "Andrew Hussie is suing Gio" to "Andrew Hussie is suing literally everyone who wants to host Homestuck" lol.

Yeah it's awesome!! Earlier this week (b4 the trailer) an irl friend expressed interest in reading Homestuck. I wonder when we'll start seeing more newbies in FRAF? It feels a bit more obscure than most fandom sites- I think most people would default to Twitter, Reddit, Discord, or Tumblr. At least in my experience, this is the first time I have participated in an active forum for a fandom. I've been in other similar communities, but most of them were hosted in Discords. I feel like it's a bit of a different vibe.... Anyways, it will be super neat seeing new folks come in here! I think the diversity and fresh eyes from new readers could add a lot to discussion.
