how has achieving fame and fortune as a world renowned comis creator affected your feelings on professional sports

Oh yooo, I haven't read BTDH in a bit, last I remembered there was a big game page being made, but then I kinda took a giant break from reading MSPFAs and Homestuck stuff cause I did it way too quick and got burnt out, I'll prob reread BTDH again soon cause I was def curious how that game page went.

I already asked my psycholonials question and it was lost to the void :-(

So I can ask it Again Again and say has your relationship with the broader Homestuck fandom changed in a way that impacts how you view Psycholonials, and how Psycholonials impacts your work?

@discordantObserver

i used to really not vibe at all with psycholonials, honestly. i wrote a lot of words about it that i don't really stand by now, but the tl;dr now is i thought it was a kind of potent diary post, but our experiences were just a little too dissimilar for me to sign off on everything.

but i realized early on that a lot of my feelings on psycholonials were informed by a very tightly curated social media feed when it comes to homestuck. so a lot of psycholonials's actual text about the strange, entitled way people behave towards a source material kind of missed me. BDTH hadn't actually started yet, so i wasn't nearly as out there as i would later be.

that's not to say i found it totally disagreeable - even at the time i found the successor/godhead stuff extremely good. the relationship between author and influence, the relationship between accepted greatness and falling into the politics of their time, of zhen being made into a "great man" successor against her will, it's all really compelling.

but in the following years, getting out there and into the actual fandom corpus did a lot to inform the minutia. yeah, joculine is a real type of person. and joculine is a great character, but i understand completely now why z would just fucking kill her like that too. i think there's still paint left on the palette. the succession war comes and goes in a single credits sequence, when it rages on eternally in real life. but hey, that's what bonfire is in bdth for.

Just started the comic so apologies if this was answered later, but how did retcon!Jade destroy retcon!John's house on LOWAS after he died when the thing that killed him was LOWAS blowing up?

Well. I tried.

dunno if the askbox is still open but I've gots a coupl'a questions.

QUESTION ABOUT BDTH: I've noticed that the "arc color pallet" of sorts is magenta, yellow and cyan, which obviously are the colors of ink in a printer. This might be an unanswerable question since spoilers and whatnot but does the recurring use of these three colors together have a specific meaning or is it more like the comics equivalent to Homestuck's many important numbers in that it just appears everywhere?

QUESTION ABOUT ETERNAL SEPTEMBER: love love LOoOoOVe ES. Have reread it twice now and was wondering... I think there's many instances in the story that imply Mary is MtF. However, to me they also possibly read as aborted FtM. Am I completely misreading here and applying transness to a character that isn't? I don't know, I'm not good at reading these things unless they're bluntly stated to me. Feel free to avoid answering this one as well if it's also a spoiler.

@scratch

consider this the one and only plot hole in this intricately constructed story :')

@rng_malrab

the CMYK stuff is sort of important, but its meaning in any context is kind of ad-hoc. there are certain things which are magenta in my brain, things which are yellow, things which are cyan, and this kind of arbitrary coding will eventually solidify into meaning with more data points to refer to.

and as for ES, mary is a trans woman. mom lalonde is as well, since i started writing transfeminine roxy in the old days, before transmasculine roxy showed up in the epilogues and beyond canon.
