Calliope making Karkat into a buff warrior type was her best headcanon im ngl

Honestly all I could think about when she was showing Meat!Karkat her twisted fanfiction of the Candy timeline was that maybe Meat!Karkat should hit the gym sometime. Lift some weights, go for a run...down with Twink!Karkat. I am tired of them drawing bro in fluffy sweaters, he's low-key turning into a foul mouthed version of Kankri and I won't stand for it.

I honestly don't recognize the Meat!Karkat I'm sorry, I know Candy is twisted and weird on purpose but I have no idea who the Karkat in meat even is lol.

When I saw that Karkat became Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, I was very confused. I started beckoning and asking why this had happened? Because it seemed so ridiculous to me. But, I love it. Perfect way to give Karkat what he deserves. An actual Leader that people care about.

Not many twinks can be as lucky as Karkat and rebound from the horrid throes of twink death like he has. Some of them just become like regular dudes, but Karkat just switched sides completely like now he's a hunk instead of a twink.

That's just good genetics at work right there, like winning the lottery.

I'm not wild about a lot of elements of 'postcanon', but the friendship between Karkat and Calliope is great. I've always, always thought they would make amazing friends, like Karkat is sort of the brother Calliope never had, all of the like, limeblood/mutantblood stuff, the 69 cuffs, there's SOMETHING there!! So as much as I hate what they've done to my lesbians, HS:BC absolutely nailed it in terms of showing Calliope and Karkat just. Naturally understanding each other on some level.

Alternate Calliope isn't writing Candy. Where did people get this misinformation from?

I think Candys writing is Good, but calling Candy!Karkat the best/proper version of Karkat feels a little counterintuitive. Sure he's Thriving under the role of a leader, but his life is a mess! I like him healthy and happy, Meat!Karkat 4TW!

Not everyone likes their favorite lil guy just being all happy and retired. I for one think it's great when my favorite lil guy has nothing but problems going on in their lives. I think its incredibly boring when a character just retires or whatever and the writers just decide that they're going to not do much ever again lol, or they just force the character into a boring mundane role.

If I wanted to read about Karkat being daves twink boyfriend who wears sweaters I would've clicked the AO3 link and scrolled.

One detail that I like is that he actually has the blood colored irises like Dreambubble Vriska said adult trolls are supposed to have, yet aren't really depicted that much if at all in the comic proper. It's a nice attention to detail and established canon.

Yeah i also thought that was pretty cool, it makes the trolls look more like aliens too IMO rather than just idk grey colored humans. It also just makes the design edgier but like there's a canon explanation for it lol

I will say Meat!Karkat wearing red sweaters more often because he's not as insecure about his bloodcolor anymore since he lives with his closest friends and family is very adorable and heartwarming. I do think that was a nice touch to it since I also like to think Karkat would just wear red when he got older due to just not caring all that much about it.

Candy!Karkat is one of my favorite parts of the epilogues. Seeing him in a leadership role really just feels like he came first circle. He's living his childhood dream. I do like the happy, domestic life he leads in Meat but Candy!Karkat is so peak I love him.

I love Calliope and Karkat's friendship. I kind of think of them as moirails, in my brain. I feel like they have similar interests in writing. Karkat's not afraid to criticize Calliope's writing, but I think they'd always be down to beta read for eachother yknow? It's very much a comfort ship for me but I just get warm fuzzies thinking about them reading eachother's work or watching movies or cooking together. Calliope making Candy!Karkat buff is so fucking funny to me, like Why Did They Do That, but at the same time I think it's kind of adorable that they also regularly characterized him as a saner member of Candy's cast. Okay, Callie. They're scraping for rock bottom there, alas...
