CHERUB HEADCANONS discussion?

i don't have cherub headcanons but i'm curious to see other people's too

Here are some of my Cherub mutations:

I tend to base them off of bone mutations/disorders/injuries.

@popomerrygamz THEYRE REALLY COOL!! I feel like Cherub skull headcanons like this arent thought about enough! :D

I like to headcanon ancestor Cherubs who already have wings as having feathers on other parts of their bodies too. Like where you would see arm hair for example, would be cool white or black feathers.

Imagine how powerful a chest full of well groomed feathers would look LOL.

When cherubs are growing their wings in they dont have scales over them so the flesh is their blood color. Here is my demonstration:

I headcanon that the cherubs look like shrinkwrapped dinosaurs (iykyk)and only really start to get some muscle and fat on their frames after domination. I'm not sure how this would function for Calliope, but yeah!

One thing I keep trying to wrap my head around is how cherubs have a culture and civilisation at all when adult cherubs are solitary deep-space wanderers who only meet to fight and mate. Calliope and Caliborn are probably not having a normal cherub childhood. So perhaps there are teeming cherub nursery-worlds full of gregarious young cherubs? That would make for an interesting setting, where everyone you meet is two personalities in one body.

re:tavroscrocker honestly part of my headcanon is that everyone just fucking. makes shit up about cherub culture. there are definitely some consistent things but also theyre so solitary and Never Meet Their Parents (at least from what we see). legitimately how do cherubs have culture under these circumstances??? i think a lot of cherubs tend to latch onto what they see in whatever planet they grow up on.

also i think most cherubs would be slightly more well adjusted than calliope and caliborn and locking them into a small room was not a good idea

i h/c the meat and candy thing is about ants, whereas the trolls have butterfly wings and start out as pupas (caterpillar esque) and the mothergrub is a winged insect like a moth

cherubs hatch from eggs but have no pupal stage, crave either protein or sugars (ant colonies will take cycles gathering either depending on need) and gots dem mandibles!

i don't know where the alligator dragon form happens, metaphor for the extreme transformations of puberty? or how people of marrying age can sometimes look like impossible monsters to kids? the cherubs die in order to multiply, but it's an exponential loss, two adults for only ever one egg, so maybe there were once healthier cherub dragons that can lay an entire clutch

but that would betray the ouroborous (sp) metaphor, so eh. immortal snakes born to eat their own tails, lest their appetite turn outwards to the doom of all.

over the years ive gravitated between more snake-like and more skeleton-like cherubs... i think RIGHT NOW ive landed on more snake-like. i used to try to draw them like. super realistic as skeleton skulls but honestly i think cherubs look best when they look exactly how they do in canon- vague emulations of skulls with snake features!!!

i think being a cherub is also inherently very traumatizing and a cherub who has predominated over their other half will always feel sort of lonely, even into adulthood. especially because most sibling pairs are probably not as evil and violent as caliborn, and just...NORMAL cherub violent. so losing a sibling forever as PART of your biology has GOT to suck. yeah. i think there is no cherub that is not lonely.

if a human or troll is dating a cherub they have to have a Basking Rock in the living room and have to put up with them just laying there under a heat lamp for hours at a time. staring off into nothing, empty lizard brain, 0 neuron activity. not for biological reasons just situational comedy

My big crackpot headcanon is that both Al and Caliborn predominated wrong and for all other cherubs, predominating involves a synthesis, with predominating just meaning "the sibling who contributes more"
