I can't think of another name for this: Consort species other than the classic Salamanders, Turtles, Crocodiles and Iguanas. Have you made any Consort fan-species yourself, or seen any interesting ones made by other people?
First time I encountered this was in a prose work called "Super Sburb Story," which had Penguin and Scorpion Consorts! "Autopraxis" and "Alabaster" also have themed sets of unusual Consorts, and both comics pay more attention to Consorts than most.
I've stuck to a reptiles-and-amphibians theme for my current project. So far, we've seen Gharials and Axolotls. Some Geckos are about to take the stage. For the remaining three players, I'm considering Chameleons, Hellbenders and Mexican Mole Lizards.
