I'm a huge D&D nerd and I wanna see some characters!
okay :3
this is Serpenzes, my tiefling wild magic sorcerer clown harlequin jester guy. i made him for a one-shot because i thought his vibes were perfect for a funny one-off, but the events of that one-shot were so wild that they've become permanently enshrined in his backstory. his choices of spells are mainly spells that can be utilised for comedic effect and utility, and whatever damaging spells at least have to be flashy and funky and fit the vibes of a jester. he's specialised for charisma, especially performance and deception, but he's got a pretty high intelligence stat too so he's a conniving bastard. wisdom and strength are his dump stats, so he's really flimsy and prone to failing a lot of important saves (which i dont mind because its objectively funny seeing clowns getting hurt).
his backstory is that, as a travelling entertainer, he likes to indulge in local mysteries and intrigue when he's not performing. one time, this led him down a questionable series of decisions that resulted in him joining a small adventuring party that got completely domed by a devil and him agreeing to forfeit his soul upon death if he's allowed to leave alive. so, now, in addition to travelling to entertain, he travels to find a way to become immortal - can't forfeit your soul upon death if you simply never die, right?
ive played him in a couple of campaigns, a couple of one-shots, and he's always an absolute blast RP and voice. hes not my FAVOURITE character ive ever made, but he's a reliable way to enjoy myself.
Life is short. Become a brand risk.
Ooh, I love to play D&D, specifically I enjoy playing a custom homebrew version of it geared towards solo play (so that it essentially becomes a fun game-ified randomized writing exercise.)
I have a character from a long campaign of mine named Lalothi, she's a custom species known as Gemlyon which is a related race to dragons (think Kobolds, Dragonborn, etc). Her story has a lot to do with needing to hide from others due to Gemlyons having a history of being taken by powerful wizards to become their minions (since they tend to have a lot of latent magic ability).
Her journey to find a lost artifact of her peoples' history takes her across the lands where she ends up becoming some kind of Sorcerer-Monk, being able to wield magic martial arts, all while evading a mysterious shadowy knight that tries to attack places she stays at.
Eventually her story ends when she realizes that there are more important things in life than finding an old artifact at this point, and begins a revolution of the monster races (such as Gemlyons, goblins, ogres, kobolds, etc) to demand equality in major common-race settlements. The actions of this revolution makes big waves across the world, setting the stage for the future, in case I'd ever want to delve back into doing a campaign in this world.
ive been movin away from D&D in particular recently and playing other TTRPG systems, but i still have my main campaign I've been playing in for almost five years (i am in a session right now! i just took 30 damage!!! my dex is so shit!!). after it's over i believe we'll be moving the sequel campaign to Draw Steel instead of D&D....
But here is my guy in the meantime! his name is Ananta Shesha, he is a loxodon cleric in my DM's fully homebrew world. As a kid he never really fit in and was always treated like he was special, and he always felt othered.... because it turns out his soul has been reincarnating as a companion of his god for all of eternity. Woah! He's still very normal, as best as a very powerful adventurer can be, and desires to run a library once he's all done, yknow, saving the universe and shit. he's awkward, has autism swag, and likes to mix drinks in the basement of the party's home base to try and make alcohol that doesnt taste like shit. he means a lot to me as a character and i can only hope he ends up getting his library at the end of it all!
and ive also got this piece i made of him as a babiets
* and the universe said I love you because you are love.
