Doubts with my project

I've been doing for a couple of years a fangame, I wanted to release it on the 4th of december, on Rose's birthday, because it's important for the plot, but...

I don't like what I have done, It could be playable but it's very far from my real vision, and I don't want to delay it anymore :/Would it be so bad to betray my initial idea of it being fangame and make it a fanadventure? It could work better that way anyways...

I know it's kind of stupid to ask for a third person opinion on this, but I have a lot of unorganized thoughts, it's been a very rough year, and this is something very important to me.
