One of the 8iggest things I personally adore a8out s8ur8 (and all other versions of the g8me) is how modular and personal it is. The Incipisphere, detached from the rest of sp8cetime, seems to willingly t8ke 8nyone and sh8pe them into a hero. We see m8ny different species t8ke hold of the g8me, and there's no reason that other species might do the s8me.

This thread exists as an extension of the concept. If you had access to something like the Deltritus la8, and wanted to m8ke a species c8pa8le of seeding a new universe... what would you cre8?

Feel free to talk a8out your fanspecies here, and don't be afr8id to m8ke one if you're interested in the concept!

I do actually have something for this!! im currently brewing up an idea for a fanspecies called automatons, they're little creatures that craft bodies for themselves to wear due to being naturally frail, though it isnt a very fleshed out concept at the moment as ive only recently came up with it, this guy right here (Roko Combo) is the only member of the species ive drawn out <:)

I've been meaning to write my own but, I never had the motivation to continue. But, from what I was daydreaming of, I'll tell about my fanspecies.
It's as of these flower-people, where their mating rituals are mostly the same as our flowers. A mediator has to be present to basically watch both of them do it. (I know, it's stupid and ridiculous, as it should be.)
They would all have different scents, floral desires. Whether it be Lilypadians, Roseians. I think that that sort of species would be an interesting change to what everyone thinks of space aliens looks like.
For all I know, I never continued with it, I might some day. But, I just think that the whole concept of flower people would be really funny and dorky.

And here's an example on what they'd look on my web comic.

Give my story a read, please.

I've been writing a story about a species who call themselves the Madrigogs. They look kind of like anthropomorphic cuttlefish, complete with face-tentacles, colour-changing skin and M-shaped pupils. (Don't ask me to try and draw that!) The humanoid madrigogs are actually the post adult-form. They live most of their lives as mindless swimming creatures mating and feeding under the ice shelf. Then one day, they haul out of the sea, grow hands and brains, and become good little Horrorterror-fearing apprentices. This is not a natural state of afairs.

More fanspecies posting spotted 👀 this is the best niche facet of the fandom

I love all your fanspecies 😭

the four main characters of "songs of defiance"

These are my babies, they're called Thrones, and I'm making a comic for them called Songs of Defiance :D

They're all eyeless, and wear glasses that let them see, but they don't have to to accurately navigate.

Alongside some friends I have cre8ted many different fanspecies for a sort of all-star g8me of s8ur8. 8elow is the first: the Atlantean. These hyper-advanced cra8-like cretins scurry around in high-pressure metal 8uildings at the 8ottom of the ocean floor. They use advanced cy8ernetics to live for a very long time, 8ut the use of these cy8ernetics is mandatory and is a 8ig point of contention within their society. Young atlanteans are few and far 8etween 8ecause most existing adult atlanteans can no longer 8reed organically -- thus, those few children are sure to 8efriend each other 8cross gr8 distances, reg8rdless of how similar they actually are.I personally 8dore all of your fanspecies and hope that you do gr8 things with them!

I have so many

Friday, August 8th, 2025, 9:03 PM26 days ago

I have 9 fanspecies!

Phosphors, Lumith, Cheshires, Nycteris,

Psiikhe, Wolpasters, Crocottas,

Raymefah, Wights, and Molluskin!

Phosphors come in 6 colors (Pink, Lime, Red, Blue, Cyan, and Yellow) with each color have different shaped pupils (Circle, Pentagon, Trapezoid, Square, Diamond, and Hexagon respectively). There's no caste system and the planet is run by a group of 6 phosphors of each color called the board. They can speak, but also use their bioluminescent spots to communicate similar to morse code. Some Phosphors used to live on land until something happened to their sun which caused the temperature on the surface to lower quite a bit. They don't have space travel yet but there's a bit tech company working on it, who also set up the public transit system called LightSpeed.

Lumith are religious and worship their sun, named Thaten. They can have between 2-7 pupils, with 7 being the rarest. Pupils determine what job a lumith will have if they choose to go that route, otherwise they can work more general jobs or are a parishioner. This is not the case for lumiths with 7 pupils as they are priests. Lumith live in parishes, which are massive stone building and children are raised by workers, so there isn't really a family system for them.

Cheshires and Nycteris live on the same planet! Cheshires like word play and riddles, and have the ability to turn invisible. Cheshire families stick together and live in large kin groups. Nycteris are superstitious and might have magic. Their symbols are based on when they're born such as time of day and under which deity's season, with some symbols being seen as luckier than others. This also determines their pronouns.

Psiikhe all have psychic powers and live on a small planet that's made even smaller thanks to a giant chasm that goes through the whole planet. Qir're based off of goldblood trolls, but all of qim have two toned psionics/horns. All psiikhe have different psii abilities, with some specializing in one or two while others are jacks of all trades. Some psiikhe have "psiileak", which is an autoimmune disorder that causes a psiike to lose qir psii ability, and also causes qir eyes to turn black. Qi all use the pronouns Qi/Qim/Qir.

Wolpasters are analogous to cherubs! There used to be a lot more of them, but after an event known as "The Uncoupling" there are now only 26 pairs. All wolpasters are twins, with one twin having a healing aura and the other having a destructive aura. This aura is nullified if the opposite one is nearby, and amplified if the same aura is nearby. The source of the aura comes from the gem in their forehead. Wolpasters naturally stay close to their twin, and the twins can speak to each other telepathically.

Crocottas are a shape shifting species that shapeshift by eating another species, with their shifted forms appearing as how they would like if they were that species. Their teeth, bones, and noses are their associated color, which also influences their shifted forms. The pendent from the necklace on this crocotta is actually his other eye! They turn into gems when removed. There are 5 different clans that a Crocotta can be a part of, with other smaller clans not officially recognized as well as a clan for outcasts. Crocottas typically work as bounty hunters.

Raymefah art griffin like; half bird, half mammalian. They believe that life is an ongoing song, with each soul within it playing their own part to create the universal symphony, and in general enjoy music. There are three herds (Alto, Treble, and Bass). Their language consists of hums, whistles, purr, trills, vocalizations, and chirps. They still need some development.

Wights are nightmare elves. Their eyes are black because they're filled with void, and would also "bleed" this void if cut. They can travels through shadows, haunt people's dreams and cause mild hallucinations to those around them. Their planet is a grayscale world of fear and horror. A lot of the fauna are cryptid like and are rarely seen. Their leadership is split between the nightmare court and nightmare monach. There's also a nightmare jester.

Molluskin are snails. Thy loves stories, and exchange their favorites when meeting with others. They carve representations of their favorite stories into their shells. They can fit inside of their shells and do so to sleep. Molluskin are nomadic, and travel to be able to tell and hear more stories. However, some molluskin are so old with such large shells they are unable to move, which causes younger molluskin of come visit them in order to tell them stories. Villages also tend to pop up around these elders. These guys also need some more development.

Phew ok i think that's a good overview of all of my species.

Re: Lepio -

Enjoying your species lore, especially the Raymefah since I'm a music nerd!

The Caretaker nymph in "Beyond Canon" looks not a million miles away from my "Madrigog" species I've been writing about for the past year. I've decided to feel vindicated by this rather than put off - I KNEW Homestuck needed a cephalopod-themed species with links to Rose! My little guys have one pair of big yellow eyes, and six-fingered hands rather than noodley arm-tentacles or branchable arms. And I suspect their life-cycle is very different too.
