Example: My favorite tidbit is that every time player doesn't just use a 'musical instrument' they use a recording device (AKA a device that takes a point in time and plays it back)
less concrete detail and more speculation on a concrete detail but I feel like something that kinda gets ignored about caledfwlch's recipe is the magic cue ball.
I feel like people just kinda accept on its face that somehow the sword can kill lord english because of the cue ball but they never really think on it.
MY PERSONAL INTERPRETATION on it is that when combined via alchemy with a weapon, a magic cue ball grants the ability to bypass any immortality, conditional or not. But why can it impart this property? Well where else do we see a magic cue ball in the comic?
...
...
...The pendulum of a god tier clock. The same clock a player in a void session must destroy to claim their unconditional immortality.
I argue that the magic cue ball, an artifact known to have a specific (manipulable) intelligence, is what within a god tier clock decides if a death is heroic or just, and so when combined with a weapon it defers judgement to whoever wields the weapon, and allows even those who lack god tier clocks or who have destroyed their god tier clocks to be killed.
no why did it not embed the image augh! (crumbles into dust) (it was vriska's god tier clock)
does the origins of the saw puppet comic early on count? i remember trawling the mspa forums Back In The Day to find the original thread once i heard that it wasnt just a totally improvised gag (although i guess it still kinda was?)
Oh that's a lot of fun! I didn't evn think about that!
OH also another early one. the detail that the CD on dave's shirt isn't split in half until he fights bro.
Assuming beyond canon is including, seeing Calliope skulk around in the vents made my heart melt because it's like they're imitating their parent/lusus Gamzee since he did the same thing.
clowns kissing
Anything is included and that is fucking adorable I never even realized that.
either Dave or John’s name should have been Chad buskin, as that was the chronologically first name posted as a suggestion
tara and raven superfan
okay there's a chance this is straight up said in the comic and I forgot but when Caliborn tells Hussie he doesn't use caps lock, he just always holds down shift, it explains why all of his old artwork on the computer is drawn with straight lines. Many art programs make you draw straight lines when you hold shift.

I roleplayed karkat for a while (shoutout to my facebook homestuck RPers) and I never used caps lock so I genuinely felt this so hard when he said that.
re: perigator
Another detail is that Doc Scratch's gun (which is also the same gun used by Calliope) also has mini Cue balls as it's ammunition. Hussie attempting to shoot Lord English using that gun implies that it would also be effective against LE, but it didn't work because the gun only had one bullet(which was used to kill Snowman) and so it was empty. This also means Calliope's weapon is one of the few weakness against LE. Another thing is that the cue ball in the Judgement Clock breaks at the same time Doc Scratch's head breaks. And also that same clock has cherub imagery on it, along with using the exact same type of Time magic that is part of Cherub's biology (as seen when Cherubs mate, and also with LE)
I theorize that the magic is related to Relevancy and/or Canonicity. Remember how LE's poison causes John to slightly be erased from existence and loose narrative relevancy? Yeah.
Also the 3 characters that uses the Cue Ball are all Light Players (Vriska, Mindfang and Rose).
there. can you hear it? of course you can’t. but if even you could, it would sound like nothing at all.
(also Caliborn is named after the sword Caledfwch aka Excalibur aka Calibur. Also it's the Welsh named while y'know Lord English. Fun stuff)
One tiny detail people don't talk about is how Skaia is implied to be an already somewhat sentient being and that it can choose to now show certain things to certain people in it's clouds. Which is pretty interesting imo.
Also The Breeze is also kinda implied to be sentient too
there. can you hear it? of course you can’t. but if even you could, it would sound like nothing at all.
@perigator
Caledfwlch is also free. Creating it by combining the Royal Deringer with the Magic Cueball costs zero grist of any type. This is very unusual for an alchemizable item — normally only important game constructs like the pre-entry Sburb devices and pre-punched card are free.
And will we let the fire go out?
Is this the end for them now?

Will we let the fire go.. out?

I could go on for ages about all the little puns that get passed over in Homestuck... I think the cutest one is how Equius's use of the minced oath "fiddlesticks" reflects his love of "bows"
@Malo Can you expand on that? I'm not aware of that connotation
Oh I just mean that a literal "fiddlestick" (when it isn't replacing the word "fuck" or w/e) is the thing you use to play the fiddle or violin, which is also called a "bow" -- it's threads stretched taut over a curved piece of wood. So saying "fiddlesticks" feels like a funny little nod to Equius's archery theme.
what the FUCK I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT THAT!
Fiddlesticks as literally being a fiddle stick is not something I've ever even considered. Genuinely wild.
One interesting tidbit is that Aranea actually discusses the foreshadows not just the retcon but also the exact circumstances it which it would be used (Terezi getting John to F1X TH1S by saving Vriska) all the way back in Act 6 Intermission 2. I am too lazy to go into all the depth of the topic but go reread page 4771 with both the retcon and the philosophy of candy John.
Vriskafic8ion comes for us all ::::)
the screen with an 8-player session in act 3 is one that a lot of people know, but calliope's existence was hinted at as early as act 4. jake's letter mentions his arm being twisted by someone else (callie) in order to make the liv tyler bunny...
also the opening of act 4 flash has a lot of fun easter eggs, dropping the gushers will produce some you can use to heal, the barbasol bomb explodes. i used to like using the hammers when i was younger, but sylladex based combat is fully operational in that game. i liked tp have a row of sylladex cards filled with heavy items, and then would just pick something up to start the cycle of endlessly throwing shit out and picking it back up
