I had this idea earlier of doing a "zombie" au where the homestuck characters are in some kind of "All of us are dead" situation with Zombies. But I started to think about the logistics of it and just how the AU would have to work.
For one, making the infection start with trolls seems like an obvious answer but also kind of boring lol. I think it'd be fun to see the aliens react to traditional earth horror monsters like Zombies instead of just making up troll Zombies or whatever the fuck. That, and I think it'd be pretty neat because even if there aren't that many Zombies (since there aren't that many humans to begin with) the horror can come in the fact that nobody knows who's infected or who isn't until it's too late.
I'm thinking this sort of story would have to happen during the game or some other time like when they're all on the meteor together. Alternatively, I think an Earth C zombie AU would be cool too because then you could have this whole other threat within the human population that's not just Jane's weird fascism.
But yeah this small underdeveloped plot thread has just been floating around in my head lol I already have too many fics I gotta write so meh.
