A lot of people have been accusing Gio of transmisogyny, and as someone who cares about facts I want to see how we know this besides the weird pronoun usage (using he/him for any pronouns is fine its just odd thats the ONLY pronoun used)
Can you elaborate on why that's weird? This is the first footnote in Gio's recent article:
”I’ll be using he/him for Andrew since those are the pronouns James Roach, Miles, and Andrew’s legal representation use for him. If Andrew actually lists his preferred pronouns somewhere I’ll use them, but as far as I can tell he’s never unambiguously done that.”
More to the point, I've never heard of a specific factual basis for Gio being transphobic and I've interacted with him plenty, mostly around other trans people.
people are getting offended on behalf of someone over the use of pronouns that everyone else also uses for that someone and that the someone seems to be perfectly fine with. this is such a non-issue
ab aeterno, et aeterno
Literally just taking away attention from the issue at hand, how Hussie is a horrible person. No Way people are discrediting Gio over this, lol

It's not transphobic to use someone's pronouns. It's literally the opposite of that. How is this the first thing I see about this issue?
People are allergic to reading because im asking for a SOURCE and they are accusing ME of distracting from this???
re;dirk - taking attention away from the issue by attempting to discredit or defame someone is all people in this fandom can seem to do
"god complex? no, its quite simple!"
it's more about how he treated previous team members that's the issue. like, making them feel unsafe and accusations of stalking, as well as like, publishing people's addresses for no reason. It's really frustrating that folks looked at the complaints people have been making about Gio, chose the most innocuous thing to talk about, and now act like it's all a non-issue.
perhaps, if many trans folks are saying that through their years of interactions and observations of him they think he's a transmisogynist... you should listen to people and think about that a bit instead of immediately trying to minimize.
Well the truth is Gio isn't transphobic. I think, ironically, people are being transphobic to Hussie by ignoring the fact she uses any/all pronouns. It's not misgendering to call him him. They use all pronouns, and while I like to mix it up because I don't know Hussie personally, a lot of people who use any/all pronouns want you to stick to one set of pronouns instead of changing them every few seconds.
Basically, people are grasping at straws to discredit Gio and are, ironically, being transphobic against Hussie to "defend" her.
@lyrichartwell do you have evidence of people besides hussie saying Gio was doing this /gen?
lyric; i *am* transgender, i refuse to believe gio is transphobic or a transmysoginist until you show proof of these claims.

In original version of "The Unofficial Homestuck Collection Taken Down" (archived at: https://web.archive.org/web/20250808143054/https://blog.giovanh.com/blog/2025/08/08/uhc-end/) Gio refers to Hussie as "alpha" (as in alpha male), "man", "guy" and uses he/him exclusively throughout the article. There was also a note at the bottom -- "I’ll be using he/him for Andrew since those are the pronouns James Roach, Miles, and Andrew’s legal representation use for him. If Andrew actually lists his preferred pronouns somewhere I’ll use them, but as far as I can tell he’s never unambiguously done that". Hussie has been using any/all pronouns for several years, and this note indicates Gio is aware of that on some level, but chose specifically to position her as a man despite this (again, not just by using he/him, but with very gendered language meant to paint them as agressive and abusive).
Gio did edit this after criticism, so it's not unreasonable to assume the article wasn't wholly motivated by *concious* transmisogyny, but painting people as like. Hysterical/overreacting or looking for problems where there aren't any is pretty silly. Not saying everybody in this thread has done that, just that it's a common line of thinking I've seen in wider discussion.
And like yes obviously if somebody uses any/all pronouns it's not transphobic to not alternate pronouns every few sentences. But as anybody who uses these pronouns will tell you, it's really noticable when people *only* use the ones associated with your agab for some mysterious reason. Roach/Miles and the legal team are closer with Hussie, so it's possible he's asked them to refer to him in specific ways when interfacing with the public (which is also a common thing for nonbinary people to do), so I don't think that's comparable to Gio choosing to refer to him in that way specifically for a 10k word hitpiece. But again the pronouns are less relevant here than the clearly misgendering language.
