I mean, Hetalia is literally a n4zi yaoi anime. The complete title is "Axis Powers Hetalia" and the main heroes are f4scist Italy, n4zi Germany and Hirohito's imperial Japan. Hetalia also contains more than questionable content regarding age and consent. (Not going into details here.) That's more than "a little weird", that's the kind of anime most people wouldn't want to be found dead with.

My argument would be slightly different from yours: Homestuck survived Hetalia, it can clearly stand Helluva Boss.

But generally speaking, I share the main idea.

That is, when I looked at this other thread, I IMMEDIATELY thought about the whole era of the Hetalia expats appearing in the Homestuck fandom, and literally told myself "This person [not you Spinstress, the other thread creator) DARES to speak about 'fandom history' ?".

I don't know if it's the purest form of cognitive dissonance I've ever seen or the rawest media illiteracy, but even THINKING about this "argument" hurts.

This post isn't really about whether or not Hetalia is more problematic than Helluva Boss or whatever, and besides all that I don't really care the anime is incredibly stupid on purpose and utterly ridiculous to the point of absurdity.

The point is that Homestucks should just get over themselves and let kids be cringe. This is the OG cringe fandom.

Also i find no merit in arguing about problematic media on the Homestuck forums of all places. For every bad thing that hetalia has, there's like a million equally as problematic features in Homestuck. We are all enjoyers of problematic things, and that's pretty okay. Harping about it is kind of silly IMO

Like fandomstuck happened naturally but this is just viziepop forcing the collab to happen like back in the day hetalia was big and honestly hellivahazbin fans are like no where associated and been with them at all I can understand hetalia that was big Tumblr thing and HOMESTUCK was a huge part of tumble culture it just doesn't work for me. ​​​​​

Personally, I don't actually think it being "forced" matters all that much lol, it's being animated by her studio and she is producing it. If it were being produced by some other studio like Glitch Productions there'd be Homestuck x Murder Drones or The Amazing Digital Circus merch instead of HelluvaBoss Merch.

The POINT of the post is that the two fandoms are merging anyways because people are both interested in the two medias and you should just accept that there will be new people who want to watch or read Homestuck.

except fandomstuck wasnt official, it was a bunch of cool fans doing cool shit creatively and collaboratively. that was an entirely natural thing that evolved from the fandom. not two companies pushing those things together lol
