Homestuck Awakened Polyamory?

While HS didn’t awaken any feelings of polyamory in me (whether or not they exist, I think I’m monogomous but I think I’m also a little more open then most) it did make me appreciate queerplatonic relationships way more, and help me wrap my head around an old situationship of mine.

It did the opposite for me. I went "holy shit!!! 5his is so stupid and dramatic snd annoying and like jalf the problems wouldnt exist if it werent for them dating why the hell does anyone even fucking put up with relationships at all they just suck!.. ... . Wait. (ironically my ex boyfriend also broke up with me the day i started reading Homestuck so. Yeah.) I knew about moirails before i knew what Homestuck was about because my moirail read it and was like "Tri were moirails. And i was like "What is that????" And he was like "Its us bro. Its us." And he was right, i was struggling for a while trying to understand what we were vuz weve always been closer than normal friends but not romantically involved (human romantic anyways) and like i was kind of forcing myself to have a crush on him sometimes which SUCKED so like homestuck has helped me come to twrms with being not polyamorous, not monogamous, but fully intolerant to dating even one person since before i EVEN read it.

homestuck greatly assisted to the realization of just how much of a mess my head is. im not too sure if im poly or not but homestuck definitely awakened something. also the concept of moirallegiance is awesome and i wish people irl used it more often :3 i sometimes wonder if im aro and all i need is just a moirail or something

It was really funny, as I briefly entered a qpr poly based around the quadrants and caused some fucking insane drama when someone I specified I only had feelings for platonically introduced himself to the people I had been dating. As my boyfriend. Which I had never called him.

Either way, I had always been poly, but it gave me new words to identify with as well. Pitch FTW

i haven't read much of beyond cannon, but i'm in a poly relationship.

i think i should read beyond cannon (ive been meaning to) and use it as a vessel to process my own relationship dynamics, right?

what could possibly go wrong?

It was something that had sort of come up 'incidentally' in previous relationships, but I think Homestuck got me to rethink a lot of things, including taking like, polyamory and the complexities of romantic life more seriously. I wasn't like... an EXTREMELY prolific fan creator back in the day, but I did write a like. Poem, story, thing, about three greenblooded troll girls who fall in love and escape a dead session together. I am sure that this story no longer exists anywhere, but I still think about that.

Honestly, I find it kind of funny and quaint that polyamory is still such a taboo topic nowadays. Maybe it's not for everybody, and that's more than okay, but it's funny that even very ostensibly progressive and cutting-edge narratives like postcanon-Homestuck and Deltarune feel the need to treat the topic of polyamory at arm's length--oh, here's a polyamorous relationship, but it's between three characters who make no sense as a triad and it's founded on this like deeply unhealthy and forced dynamic, so don't worry about having to take it seriously! Like it's the same exact pattern for both Jade and Rouxls Kaard, beat for beat!

Eh, but I guess it's not the kind of thing I take as... personally? as I did the silence that once existed around gay and trans media. It's just kind of amusingly out of touch.
