WWhat are your favorite subtle or overt Homestuck references in other pieces of media? I have been interested in this topic for a wwhile, and I figured it wwould be cool to hopefully centralize a lot of this info for people like me!
Hot metal looks like cold metal, but feels different.
I'll start wwith a rather topical one: There's a god tier(?) clock in the Hazbin Hotel pilot wwhich can be seen in the background wwhen Nifty is cleaning (at 26:04)
(I figured I'd make this a seper8 post to cut dowwn on the length you need to scroll on each page, hope that is ok!)

There's a PS4 quiz game called Knowledge is Power that has a Homestuck question in it. I remembered being startled by it
@squiddo
Ooh, I've actually never seen that one. WWhere's it from?
@sabhait
Lmfao, do you remember wwhat exactly the question wwas?

@TT: https://youtube.com/shorts/xy8kE6k44-Y?si=7BJi80lt2uVivS1g this short has a great rundown of the easter eggs.
This is from the show Bluey, which is a childrens show about a dog family.
@temporarilytaciturn
Sadly not, and its not a very popular game so there's no resources like... a big list of questions or something. I just remember Homestuck being namedropped, and me correctly answering the question leading to my friends learning I liked Homestuck.
personally, i think the funniest homestuck reference i've seen was in chicory. not gonna spoil it. think it hits the hardest when it's out of left field.
@kevin
now that you mention it theres that really funny reference in Wandersong too... has anyone found anything in beastieball yet?? is this just a thing Wishes Unlimited does??
i actually think one of my friends i met through homestuck worked on beastie ball, so... maybe...?
Here's a couple I haven't seen anyone mention yet:
- Steven Universe: the episode "Last One Out of Beach City" has characters working on a puzzle that is 612 pieces and resembles the Battlefield on Skaia.
- Battle for Dream Island: the episode "🥚" (yes that's what it's called) of the show's 2nd season has Perfectly Generic Objects as one of the potential prizes on the prize wheel.
- Smiling Friends: The bar in the post credits scene of "The Magical Red Jewel (aka Tyler Gets Fired)" features several posters and clippings on the wall that are very blatant homages to Homestuck. Like a ridiculous amount lol.- Forsaken: Features Wayward Vagabond as an unlockable skin for one of its characters.

The book Penance by Eliza Clark is an otherwise pitch black satire of contemporary true crime fandom that drops an out of nowhere Vriska Did Nothing Wrong reference near the end.
xkcd comic #1555 ("Exoplanet Names 2") includes "Antispit" as a proposed name

HAHAHAHA wwhat?? This is going on my reading list for that alone. (wwell, it does sound interesting regardless, but... its funnier this wway.)

in the game starbound you can get perfectly generic objects if you input a spawn item command wrong
vriska is awesome
octopus pie has got a "homestuck on ice" ad. the little karkat gran drew is very charming
re: smiling friends
pretty sure those backgrounds were drawn by the same person that did hyper rendered sollux for [s] 8r8k
^yes, tumblr user fruitegg did both of those things
speaking of sollux. this simpsons comic panel has a sollux cosplayer, but the colorist didn't get the reference
also dave in the background of a scene on dead end paranormal park.
Things That Never Were, a mod for a political simulator game called The Campaign Trail, has a pretty involved reference, to the point where explaining it would require me to talk about the nature of the game, the mod, its themes, and one ending. I kinda wish this forum implemented spoiler code so I could do it without feeling guilty
26:04 in the Hazbin Hotel pilot for the god tier death clock

Oh, I remember when an ad for a Resident Evil VR game used "kanayaphobia" to refer to an enemy with a chainsaw, and word immediately spread that they likely got the term from a corresponding reference on Urban Dictionary
