decadentThrough: anagram of turntechGodhead that I used to make an instagram account (now deleted.)

emilydaemon: started off as emilyd (as emily is taken on most platforms). the d at first was something you could make up your own extension for, but later d was extended to canonically mean daemon, as in *nix system daemons

jornmann: keyboard gibberish which started as "jornnman" and then was balanced into "jornmann", which is a nice two sets of four character words.

i've also a couple other usernames I don't want to post here, but one of them comes from an MF DOOM lyric.

'nebula' is because i think space is cool and legitimately the only thing i remember from science class in middle school is about nebulae, i thought they were soooo pretty and then theyre just kinda special to me :) and then 'carrion' is because i like crows and vultures lol

I was thinking of a chumhandle a while ago. I like birds (among other animals), and thought of the name for the order of passerines, Passeriformes. I thought, hey, I could make a pun out of that that would be chumhandley enough. My first thought was passeriFormal, but--in spite of my admittedly stilted way of writing--I wouldn't consider myself a very formal person. So, I went with passeriInformal instead!

I also think "passeri" sounds nice, and "PI" is a fun abbreviation ^w^

for the forum iwanted to be calvin becaus thats my name so itook it
everywhere else i go by cal_alidocious or cal-alidocious if they don't let you use underscores. it's derived from the word 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' which i've been using for forever (2016? 2017) as a pseudonym . older friends call me super though these days i go by calvin more often

Autumn is my actual for real name + Wyvern is my fursona species

because my name is A Word I've been able to get away with it being like "stealth" in usernames forever. I always find it charming when ppl call me "Wyvern" with the assumption that "autumn" is describing the wyvern part, also AutumnWyvern is p consistently available when AutumnDragon is a hit or a miss.

fun fact: i accidentally ruined a friendship on neopets because we were sharing our Real Names as a sign of trust and this person refused to believe me the "autumn" part of my username was for real My Name and got upset I kept lying. This is extra funny where if you know my neopets account it was made for me by my mom who was seemingly unaware of the internet safety rules for kidz circa 2002 because between my username and my first neopet's name you can learn: my first and middle name, birth month, and birth year. "Autumn" was all over my account. also If we are ever able to change a neopets name thats the only one of mine thats gotta get fixed. Granted as part of making a professional portfolio site as a class project p much all my shit is out there now but I just think its a bit much yaknow? a bit tacky

Librarysraph is the username I've used pretty much everywhere since I was a teenager. I like reading and I think angels are neat, and seraph is a pleasant sounding word. ArchivalAngel is just GCAT-ing it, for extra homestuck

well, jupiters_halo spawned from june (egbert) -> juniper -> jupiter -> what if jupiter had rings -> halos are ring-shaped -> jupiters_halo

for my music stuff i go by pomabug, which spawned from the snail species helix pomatia -> poma -> 4 letters is too short -> added bug to the end because it felt like it belonged there -> pomabug

it corresponds with my other nicknames on different platforms, but originally i used it in Pesterchum Client. Something just captivates and repulses me in process of decay. While bones are cool in their own right.
also i realized i have caries and scoliosis so it sounds ironic but not much.

around the end of 2019/the start of 2020 i decided i needed a new username since i got bored of my previous one. i decided on "moth" because moths are cool. at some point i found out about the mothman and thought that's even cooler so i changed it to "mothman". in early 2021 i got into toki pona and eventually decided to change my username to "kije motan" (short for "kijetesantakalu motan" - kijetesantakalu being a joke word meaning procyonid and motan being the tokiponised form of mothman. by then i'd become a furry with a racoon as my fursona). during that time i made a tumblr account, and when trying to come up with a url i thought "wouldn't it be funny if i named myself "the motan"". and it was. a year or two later i'd changed fursonas again (now to a dragon) and fully changed my username to "the motan".

mothcultist came around during the mothman era. i wanted to make a new, thematically appropriate email adress and decided on that. a few months ago i rediscovered pesterchum and needed a chumhandle, so i just repurposed that

10 years ago or so I would change my steam display name every few days to some random crap. One day I changed it to "The Great Waluigi", and during the few days I had that username one of my friends from school made a weird roleplay steam group that I think was inspired by like vikings or something and it had a username gimmick so I altered my display name to "The Great Walujski" because I thought it would be funny. I ended up thinking it actually sounded awesome and unique so I ended up using it for a long time. Years later I wanted a new variant and ended up at "Wiiuski" and never looked back (except for accounts I made before the shift)

Sadly I couldn't use Username straight up so it was probably already taken or restricted or something, but this works just as well
