its better to use social media platforms as a way to orate your thoughts and ideas regardless of feedback. unconcerned, unbothered, uncompromising talkers are more interesting than those who make an active attempt to appeal to an audience.

all twitter fandom groups lead to turmoil and callout posts join me in forum land . all ive seen from hstwt was back in 2020 when it was really bad so i personally dont think its worth it to have a lot of eyes on yourself . or use twitter at all for that matter. but i understand why people still use it
Yeah, worrying about popularity is usually the start to a terrible time on any social media. If you're not having a fun time just posting for yourself and maybe 1 or 2 other people I'd say not to worry about it.

i dunno i have a 1 follower private account and ive never been happier being on Tweeter, i second Sinaya but if you ARE trying to gain an audience you can use whatever hashtag theyre using right now .. which might just be #homestuck :) interact with posts as well! and remember to exist freely and block freely!

hstwt seems so miserable and scary I wanted to try and make friends there but I'm kinda scared lol so here's to try this
hstwt seems (and probably is) lowkey horrible to interact with, i know a couple a funny accounts but the overwhelmingly majority of folk seem like a headache to interact with.
and i was honestly scared that this forum would turn into some hstwt 2 situation but thankfully it didn't so ayup we win again bros :pray:
homestuck fans should go on tumblr instead of twitter i think. infinitely better for archiving and also it's our Roots
and also all that other stuff about twitter being shit. obviously
my only exposure to hstwt mostly was anonstuck because i loved reading the submissions as bad as they may be. so it was surprising to see the whole downfall happen on a random afternoon i opened twitter and checked the qrts of the latest submission. so even if that's my only actual exposure i can already see how miserable and horrible it is. i've been in other fandom subtwts before it's just that hstwt seems REALLY intimidating compared to others, but maybe that's right for obvious reasons as well (why it's miserable lol).

hstwt has a bunch of miserable people.. which is why i keep my account private and from time to time i try to find mutuals who seem atleast a little nice! i still try to interact cause the fanart is awesome and there are some funny posts

By the way, if you do something even slightly wrong to somebody on HSTWT, they will do everything in their power to justify hating you for it. I'm not on there anymore because someone wrote a callout doc alleging I started a self-harm pedophile cult (which is fucking outlandish, by the way) with no proof other than that they said so. Don't do it... Stay in forum land with us...
Twitter in general is so conducive to anger and rage that it leads to people getting much more pissed about literally everything than they should.

like @vodkamutini said earlier, Homestuck Tumblr is a lot better than HSTWT in my opinion - i think since everyone flocked to Twitter en masse all thats left are people who understand basic internet etiquette, especially with the introduction of 'communities' they work pretty similar to these forums - it's a lot easier for people to see your art and make friends that way too. just remember to use the block button freely and don't engage with trolls, hope everything goes well!!
