I understand that there's not a lot to exploit here and that it'd be pretty easy to sue off the face of the earth in a lot of cases. But like, there has to be some way, right? It's not like the idea of a Homestuck story is copyrighted.

i think if you changed the like gimmick of the trolls and the names of all the species and the name of the game and then also like switched up the humans and whatever you could probably get away with it, like instead of 4 humans playing Sburb with trolls you could do like 9 humans play a board game called Gnag, a game to destroy the cosmos, with a bunch of elves
