Started playing Hylics 2 and realized Hylics 1 is the price of a frozen coke rn (2 AUD!!!) so keen to beat both games and what I played of 2 holyyy shit.
I've always been a huge fan of multimedia artstyles (Homestuck being one was always a draw-in for me) but Hylics does it in such a unique way that's more up my alley with this semi stop motion heavily filtered claymation, one thing I always wanted to do if i ever get into gamedev is utilize sculptures in a way and Hylics does it so well.
Also just helps that so far the gameplay is just solid but difficult JRPG combat with really nice animation, very happy this game exists

I've been a huge Hylics fan ever since the Nitro Rad Hylics 2 review!!! I absolutely adore the abstract and surreal aesthetics and since the fandom is so small (and the source material so vague), some really cool fan interpretations were integrated into the second game when that was being worked on, and it seems a lot more are being integrated into the third one! Sadly this does mean a lot of the lore is trapped the two extra albums and in hours-long vods on Youtube in Mason's and Chuck's channels which does suck a little xP but it all will probably be more properly integrated in the actual game for Hylics 3, which I'm very excited about :3c

omg hylics mention lets fucking gooo!!! i got into hylics when i watched the vinesauce streams for it and ever since ive been completely hooked its literally one of my biggest hyperfixations lol. the hylics ost is probably the biggest highlight for me besides the very cool visuals amd art style ofc so i was super interested in the two extra albums they made post hylics 2. also to answer op yes hylics 3 is in the works rn!! alot of the lore for it is hinted at in one of the albums for the game absent moon but its not like a must listen to understand the story ig (id recommend it otherwise just cuz the music does go v hard lo)
