Monster hiiiiigh its so good. I remember loving the movies when I was a kid, and from that getting into the dolls. Have you SEEN the new skullector dolls? Theyre so good! Im sad that theyre so expensive though..... I get it but I don't have the cash to spend on them.

I love Monster High!!!! I need to get out my G3 Lagoona. Whenever I have more room I wanna get a lot more dolls

...can you tell this used to be my whole un-life? off the top of my head, i have crisp memories of spending hours rewriting the tv tropes pages from the ground up, ripping site assets and reposting them on tumblr, theorizing with fellow fans... goddamn. And of course, searing the utterly generation defining design work into my young mind. Literally, it was like... My Little Pony was why I joined Tumblr, but Homestuck and Monster High are why I never left.

It's had its ups and downs, but it's a part of me—and if you're here, you know that feeling. Did you just think the dolls were cute? Did you snag a few for customs? (Lemme see!!!) Did you engage with the deep lore? Did you know Draculaura (at least in Gen 1) was Dracula's adopted and her mom died of the Black Plague? Hello other MH fans! We're bonded forever now!

Oh hey! I own many Gen 3 dolls. They take up a whole shelf worth of space in my room. In fairness, I think I own too many - I'm only really interested in collecting dolls for Twyla nowadays, and I have a bunch of miscellaneous dolls of the other characters I can't do anything with. I'll probably sell them or something...

I also have a couple playset pieces from when I was a kid, but all of my dolls from that time are long gone. I miss them a lot, I'll be back.

Here's a picture of the shelf. They've just been sitting around here so they've gotten a little messy...

There's a Draculaura doll behind the Garden Mysteries Twyla packaging. I need to put her up with the rest, but I just haven't been feeling like it.

I think Kanaya would be killer as a skullector doll.

Hell yeah Gen 3!!! And hell yeah Twyla!!! She's such a legend... I was even a Twyleen head back in the day. Her design is so strong across generations—the line's OG pastel goth princess with the on-the-pulse creepers. A nightmare stalker with eyes that glowed in the dark and shadows creeping up her limbs... but I digress. And yeah... my first ever MH doll was an OG Frankie, now long, long lost. I got her for Christmas in...2011(?!) and had my own small collection in a few years. They're all pretty much gone now, too. But the inspiration they brought unlives on. And on the subject of playsets, the theming of objects was absolutely no slouch against the outfits. Lala's coffin bed, Frankie's operating table, Lagoona's hydration chamber... when I tell you I could be here all day. Don't beat yourself up: if it's meant to be, you'll find the time to tend to it. The joy they brought you is real either way.

Oh, beyond a shadow of a doubt. With the glow in the dark detail and the chainsaw accessory? Forget all the fuck about it. I know folks would clamor for a canon retread, but I'd like a unifying fit instead—an elegant symphony of what makes Kanaya Kanaya. God, I'm tearing up imagining all the little horned skullettes. Following the pattern of past releases, we'd likely get all trolls and all ladies. I nominate Kanaya, Scourge 2-Pack, Aradia, and Helltier Vriska as absolute musts. I'm unraveling just imagining the possibilities.

Omgggggg skullector kanaya would be so good. Im now imagining the rest of the troll girls as dolls, the beautiful feferi doll that exists in my mind would be gorgeous. And think about a calliope doll! Id be curious as to how they'd sculpt her face, if they'd round it out and do little carved details or maybe even make a entirely new and unique mold altogether.

I would love a playline-level Cherub 2-pack, and an SDCC level AlCal. Imagine the accessories...

Have y'all seen the second wave Refresh leaks yet? How we feelin?

Omg I just learned about refresh leaks because of endater. Theyre so charming, god I love it. Everyone looks so good, but I esp like clawdeen!

Rare Clawdeen fan... but tbh I agree. I love the hair mix, and her face is gorgeous. If I get her, I think I might try to cut the fur off the jacket and paint the shoes so they aren't see-through. Lately it seems like they're trying to capture more of a glam/hauntlywood style for Clawdeen (I've seen a lot of people say this feels like g1 Clawdeen's younger sister) and I'm here for it. I think we're drifting away further and further from whatever the original vision for g3 Clawdeen was, which kinda sucks since she's this gen's main character and it really doesn't feel like it when her style is so fragmented. But I can't say I cared for that original vision so it's a win for me ultimately. I do wish they'd give her back her glasses though. Maybe try to do something a little more fashionable with them.

Personally, I'm most excited for Cleo. They finally gave back her pants. I don't like her mug- I really don't like super blushy looks on dolls personally and in these stock photos it kinda makes her look like she's about to ask for a manager. BUT everything else is so good. I love the cut of the top and the mesh sleeves and I really like the hair.

While we're here, my thoughts on the other ones:

Franklin's usually my number 1, but this one is not particularly wow-ing me. Maybe that's a good thing, the point of the refresh line is to keep the main ghouls on store shelves. The first refresh dolls came during a time where g3 was just solidifying what they wanted to be, so those dolls really felt like a step up from the original core dolls. These on the other hand, just feel like more of the same. Except for Draculuara. I think her doll is pretty unfortunate. Don't get me wrong, the doll is cute, but is it Draculuara? I don't think it is! It feels like she just found out what coquette is and is a year late to the trend. Keep in mind, these dolls will probably be on shelves as the main representation of the characters until 2027/2028. If this was a look in something like Skulltimate Secrets, I'd be all over it. It's just in this context that I don't think it's a good doll. Insanely cute hair and legwarmers aside from that though. As for Lagoona, personally, I've always struggled connecting with Lagoona Pink. Her first refresh is definitely my favorite doll of hers, but this one is starting to grow on me. I think I'm starting to get the long skirt. Sleeves are maybe a bit too puffy; a needle and thread might fix that. I think a darker lip would have sent her over the edge for me.

Overall. I am whelmed.
