I know that it came out a little while ago, but what did we think of it?

I actually thought that they did,,, surprisingly pretty good, haha? I genuinely have no big complaints, and I think that its pretty solid of a pilot, despite only being 11 minutes. I think that, yeah, some curse words were insanely overused but I really liked the animation style they used? I really do hope they continue it, LOL.

Anyhoo, I really wanted to gather up what peoples general opinions on it were, out of sheer curiosity.

In my opinion, it was very good!

They really managed to efficiently and funnily compress over 100 pages into 11 minutes, and they made many of the parts I found boring in the original comic very funny (mostly when he's exploring his house and not talking to his friends).

Plus, the animation is beautiful and the voice actors are great<3<3<3<3

I really loved it (^///^)

Why hate when we can love and play video games with each other?<3<3<3<3

In my opinion, it missed the mark :\

It as way too quickly paced and lacked much of what I loved about that part of the story, It felt impatient! like it couldnt wait to get to the next character or reveal and couldnt let anything breath before quickly rushing to the next thing!
This leads to a... lets call it "energy" that is illfitting of homestuck in my opinion, and is gonna make the events of the story that are supposed to be significant feel typical and well insignificant (mainly talkin about the meteor)
I also dont find it enjoyable as a standalone show because its full of references and nods to things only fans would understand, like showing jack noir and rose sneaking around the house, and the pilot doesnt provide context for those so if you DONT know homestuck you wouldnt get it!

It wasnt all bad, the characters are mostly fine (tho IMO dave is way too hyperactive), but as an adaptation AND a standalone episode I quite disliked it!

I thought it was a very canny adaptation of the source work, and I'm hopeful we get a full series of this quality! It's definitely way too fast in parts, and didn't adequately explain some things (see: the smoke pellets and dad strife), but I guess it also isn't really *for* us, for the most part? It's a measuring stick for investors to see how much the team can get done with what sort of budget, and to give them an idea of what sort of vibe the show will be going in. So I'm a little less critical about that stuff than I maybe should be.

- Let the record show; I have no idea what I'm doing

I kinda liked it, but I'm not gonna lie, i think it went very fast-passed, making the experience kinda confusing lol, also some details about the designs of the characters kinda annoy me, I mean, the style it's not bad but, I think that it doesn't fit THAT well to them.

Also I did not like that they decided to show ALL the Trolls in the very first episode, I feel that that made it lose all the exciment and linearity that it is supposed to have, i mean like c'mon, they are shown in the ACT 4 man, like what's up with that?

But yeah, that's my opinion, hope they go with the series well and faithful to the original source (like it's supposed to be).

my general opinion of the whole thing is neutral but carapacians have 14 seconds of screen time in it which is way more than i expected and a very pleasant surprise
