This is NOT what I expected like what do you mean Vivziepop is working on Homestuck in the big 2025?? Also Toby fox voices John Egbert so it means that Vivziepop and Toby Fox are working on the same project it's insane
Voices are a bit weird to me but I don't really DISLIKE them. Also in general the animation looks nice.
I don’t think anyone saw this coming. this is legitimately crazy.
This is some straight up delirious biznasty, Dawg!!
It only took like 15 year but where making this hapen!
I'm so, so curious about how the SBaHJ sections will be handled.
where am i how did i get here
nintendo hire me to be sweet bro i will give you the best performance you've ever seen
the epilogues are the best part of homestuck
i hope SBaHJ will be shitty animations instead of a shitty comic. if they want to make an adaptation of homestuck in a different medium, their best bet is to alter the meta jokes into something that make sense in an animation, rather than getting rid of them entirely
I am so, absolutely, positively, completely, utterly, baffled by this shit.
theres something to be said about the way this disrespects the original medium.
day by day homestuck turns more into a franchise
im losing my mind this feels like turing the tv on durring a tragedy
n1 tmbg fan
i woke up to the trailer on my youtube feed and was genuinely confused as to if i was awake or not LOL the animation looks pretty solid, the voices to sound a bit odd to me aside from John's but that might just be because i'm too use to all of the really popular fan dubs voices
the merch looks great, i don't care much for helluva boss but i will find a way to get my hands on those acrylic keychains. if only i didn't spend my paycheck getting a digicam (ಥ﹏ಥ)
I must get out of here. I must get free and in this mind is the key. -Agent Smith, The Matrix
I was at first kind of disappointed I'm not a big Vivziepop fan lol but then I became excited at the prospect of new Homestucks.
I don't quite know how to feel about this yet.. if anything I might just be confused. First no more Unofficial Homestuck Collection, and now suddenly there's going to be an animated pilot? I am worried that with Vivziepop working on it, it'll make Homestuck's reputation as a fandom worse than it already was.
Im honestly hyped but with the recent hussie drama it reminds me of how baffling news get spread over the population in order to cover political fuck ups... now Im not saying the timing of the drama and the pilot are intentional but- *gets shot*
@cyberarf Considering it was Spindle who revealed it, I personally kinda doubt HS was holding onto this for a rainy day, though I can imagine they'd have preferred better timing lol.
That said, I'm of a mixed opinion. I think the animation looks great, the music is fun, and I could definitely get used to the voices. (Haven't seen anyone mention Richard Horvitz on voice direction, which is oddly perfect.) That said, I'm not the biggest fan of Vivzie or Spindle in general, and I can't see HS being adapted in a satisfying way in the shortform without MASSIVE changes to accommodate. Part of me would almost prefer they pull a Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and veer into a wild new direction, rather than worry about trying to cram thousands of pages of comic into 20 minute episodes.
my initial reaction was "what do you mean this isnt a prank it has to be theres no way this could be real" but thats simmered down and now im like. okay yeah a new studio thats been spun off from spindlehorse doing a pilot for homestuck as their first project that does technically speaking have vivzie as producer but i dont think shes actually doing much i think shes going to mostly focus on the main splinde-animal studio she runs. probably just like vidchat in and give a thumbs up every now and then lol. and its a pilot so its basically a proof of concept. who knows if it will ever be picked up.
theres a very real timeline here were it comes out, theres a brief burst of buzz/discourse/whatever that dies down within a week and 90% of people move on and nothing happens other than a cute little animation of what could have been.
i do think just based on what we see it getting picked up and being able to do more would be fascinating to see it in work. it feels like all those tumblr pranks of trying to get people to think homestuck is an anime has come full circle. but theres so many moving parts involved who can really say
i like how the strifes are animated, its really fun.

my distaste for vivzie aside the animation looks REALLY fucking good. i like the part where dave reaches out of johns phone, its pretty creative, and the tiny bit of john and his dads strife we get also looks awesome. im not a fan of daves or roses voices but its not the worst thing in the world ,, i am very worried about pacing and things getting lost in translation and stuff, there is a ridiculous amount of nuance in this godforsaken webcomic especially considering how long it is, SO much of that is going to be lost in show format. its just inevitable. but i guess we'll have to wait and see!
what who said that
lots of people in Parodystuck and just friends really don't like the fact that shes working on it
I am, really not a fan of viziepop at all, and my one note on the trailer is i really dislike that dave doesn't have a texan accent lol
that said, the animation looks... good? It's just. there's clearly so much work being put into this?? I can't say i'm not curious and not at least a little excited?
re: cyberarf
I þink you're severely underestimating þe amount of time, labor, and energy þat goes into animation. Þere's no way þat anybody would drop a whole ass animated pilot as a distraction from þeir controversies. And I strongly doubt þat once þe trailer was deemed a finished product, Spindlehorse would leave it collecting dust on þeir hard drives saving it for þe next time Hussie gets involved in drama.
