hello, everyone! i have begun this thread on the topic of the Pokemon Friendlocke; a clever and interesting deviation on the usual Nuzlocke genre, popularised by semi-niche internet funnyman SaltyDKDan.
today has, so far, just been comprised of me watching the 5 hour long compilation video of his Friendlocke of Pokemon Violet! i think that friendlockes are really cool and awesome, and the idea is very cool!
my favourite part of them is how all of the characters manage to make a sort of new personality for the Pokemon they control. for example, in Salty’s Violet playthrough, there are characters such as Christine’s and Vriska. And in salty’s other playthroughs, literally anybody played by Monsters. Actually, season 2 is the main perpetrator of unique characters, and you should really check it out in order to see what I mean by this! Friendlockes being a way to roleplay with the base of the character handed out to you is pretty neat, and it’s fun to be able to make lore off of the top of your head, so that you can have people mourn you for something weird and specific. It also builds the world of a world that’s already built! Because, you know, it’s Pokemon!!
i honestly wish i could be a part of a friendlocke and have some kind of strange persona which makes everybody laugh.
