Has anyone else read this series? If so, what did you think of it, as a comic? It became sort of 'in vogue' recently again thanks to some Youtuber 'deep dive' grist about it, which is how I found out about it, but I found the story extremely compelling as divorced from any of the context surrounding the creator and details of their personal struggles. The deep obsession with meta, with stories-as-puzzles, with a reality full of riddles, the gender and identity stuff, honestly feel ahead of their time, and the experiments with collage, stories-in-stories, and page layout completely belie its simplistic presentation and character design, almost til it feels like reality itself is breaking down around you. It can get really dark at times and is definitely not appropriate for all ages, but, there is the spark of genius catching fire throughout it, and that is for damn sure.
If you've never read it, and that sounds at all appealing to you, I seriously encourage you to check it out! https://plorg.neocities.org/ppc/
This post was a Magic Mirror production. Problem Soothe, now playing in a theater near you: https://magic-mirror.neocities.org/problemsoothe/ps0000
I have, regrettably, yet to finish a start-to-end readthrough of PPC, but Jack's stuff in general has been extremely influential on me. Huge fan of Spongy (https://castlezzt-archive.neocities.org/spongyDirectory)
i actually found out about this through the "darkest unsolved internet mysteries" youtuber grist mill. it's been on my read list for a while, but i hadn't gone to actually get a link, so thank you for linking!
SHAPED OR MOLDED FORMS appear to have been formed from a plastic material through directly applied force.
ABSTRACT FORMS are of uncertain origin.
i also found out about it through one of those youtubers and read it almost right away since it seemed so interesting... i really wish people talked different about art like PPC, so many people are kinda condescending about stuff like it and act like people w/ visible mental illness couldn't possibly have any intentionality in their art, it gets frustrating. i really really liked the comic, the extremely dense collage bits and labyrinthian meta plot were really fascinating and the overall tone of surreality and unreality was super affecting. definitely some uncontrolled genius in it
