Hey guys, TK here, the Executive Producer (aka The Guy) behind Project Soundpage, and I just wanted to talk a little (more casually) about the official homestuck pilot announced by spindelhorse (spindelroo?) today.

first of all, this is pretty cool? i mean an official homestuck animated show!?! (or, a pilot at least). thats awesome! that's something ive wanted to see for a long while, and im happy to see its at least being tested out. toby as john is... fucking fantastic. he does a great job and its a great fit. of course, im still partial to our john VA (given i picked him out myself) but thats to be expected, i think. and holy shit, hone? amazing pick. hone if you're seeing this i love your work and youre awesome.
the whole reason i joined this project, and am now heading it, is because i want to see homestuck animated. so this is no bad news for me, and no bad news for anyone on the team. we've wanted to see homestuck in this medium so bad for so long that we decided to pitch in and do it ourselves.
we're not going to stop doing what we love because someone else is doing it too. whats bad about another love letter to an intricate, impactful body of work? its fantastic. im excited to see what they do, and im excited to show you what we'll do. i hope you all know we plan to exist in tandem and have a good supportive space for all homestuck animated works.
i will say you're allowed to have your favorite of the two, im not going to stop you from having opinions, obviously. but i ask that you keep your opinions respectful of all the hard work going into each project. and, like. why not watch both? two cakes is better than one, as far as im concerned.

i'm gonna have a baller time getting to watch TWO homestuck animateds... glad you all are still working on it i was a teensy bit worried that wouldnt be the case. looking forward to the future of all this :o)

We should celebrate that we're so lucky to get two shows! All the more love for Homestuck and even more avenues for fans old and new to continue enjoying it. There's no doubt each project will bring something unique of its own to the table, and I hope others are encouraged to not only support and enjoy these works, but find camaraderie among their fellow Homestucks who have always wished to see these come to life, instead of turn these wonderful love letters into reasons to clash.
The work of you and your team is awe-inspiring, especially knowing the pure love and passion that goes into a fan project as large as this, and I'm excited to see where things go! <3

I think you guys are doing some amazing work. It would be hilarious if the Official Homestuck Pilot goes mainstream and we get a resurgence of those high quality Homestuck videos from 2012 but more importantly your project will also be more recognized in turn. I remember seeing a preview of Project Soundpage and you guys are doing fantastic for an entire team doing this for just the fun of it and out of the passion for the accursed webcomic we all love. Let's celebrate not only the pilot's release but when Project [S]: Act 1 Episode 1 releases in it's full, animated glory. B)

I think both cakes will be cool, my friend is getting into Homestuck IRL so now I get to see his reactions to all of this firsthand including Soundpage which he had a lot of fun watching today.
