Retirement Home for Homestucks over 30

i'm 29, but i've been here for about 15 years, i could be here for another 20 if it remains as interesting as it has been. a couple weeks ago, i started medication for suppressing heartburn and i bought a bunch of compression socks because my feet keep swelling. this is mostly because i started estrogen, but still. it sure does not help feeling old.

my personal favorite crackpot theory is "vriska was mind controlling everyone in their a6a6i5 lilypad conversations" followed shortly by tavros in scarlet.

do i count i dont know what a homestuck is

I'm getting there, since I think I'll be like 27? Idk I ain't figurin' that out just to see how much time passed by. I've been in this since like 2011 and I'll be cold and buried before I lose a fan streak like this. I remember speculating like hell when the cherubs got introduced (like what a decade ago??) what they would look like and their importance.

Anyways I finally got vested in my 401K at my company and have invested in some comfy braces for my already pop-rockin' knees. :')

well ignoring the bday glitch im an even 30 not Over 30 i mean in a literal sense i am bc im like 30+ a few months but who counts like that??

Unforch things over here are Not Ideal on account of getting very hit by a car in March. I am/was stuck at a retail job that I still can not do because my right knee is still pretty befucked. At least im able to go on disability leave ahhahaha. I thought maybe id use this time to look for other jobs actually in my field but im slightly limited because i uh designed my bedroom poorly and cant access the pc that i 3D model on because my room is too narrow. On account of all the Stuff in it.. anyway thats why i keep posting at seemingly random times of day. because im here instead of doing anything else remotely productive. which i guess in many ways is not that different from how i was at 15 Lmaoo. roflcopter even

I approve of the fact the bday glitch makes me fit in here, anyways i feel grey omens constantly so my life is pretty good

I think there's maybe 2 other people in their 40s on this entire forum? I didn't really read commics between the ages of 12 and 27 - I got obsessed with comics after my Only Reads Serious Novels phase.

I was 23 when Homestuck started in April 2009, 25 when I launched Alabaster in February 2011, 28 when I drifted away from the fandom at the end of 2013, 37 when I came back to the fandom and to Alabaster at the start of 2023. I reached 40 this July and it's wild to me, I feel like I'm still 20, part of me can't believe two decades went on like that.

40 is interesting because you really cannot consider you're "young" anymore. In no contemporary culture are you a young enby at 40. It makes you realize more accurately how precious your time is, how precious life is, how precious everything is. It leads you to drift away from useless drama as much as possible, to look at some events with a more critical eye, to choose more cautiously the people you're close to. You develop a kind of patience, and, hopefully, gentleness.

What I'm up to currently? Trying to get better in my daily routine, to develop more discipline. I want to get better at organizing my life, my budget, my cooking, my furniture, my relationships, everything.

re: Oasis omg I just realized your icon comes from Go Get A Roomie?? I loved that comic... this made me check the website for the first time in ages, it looks like the author started a new story back in 2023. Gonna go check that out

I’m expecting an accelerated “how precious life is” awakening for me once it reaaaally sinks in i survived a near death experience ✨ (tangentially related i was super relieved today to find that the keychains that fell off my phone were in fact saved. Chahut my beloved has returned to me)

(also at any moment just bop me if i make too morbid a joke or whatever I’ve lost perspective on what like level of joke is normal)

I'll hang onto this thread as a rapidly-approaching-30-year-old person. Time is an illusion and the fact this thread is what made me actually remember my birthdate is probably the best support I have for being jaded in spirit. Like its already mid-August and I have no clue when that happen??? Also anyone got a favorite brand sock-wise? I'm happy with my Sockwells!

I am a 33 year old very much feeling my mortality recently due to an unfortunate death in the family. I'm actually pretty new to the fandom, reading Homestuck and then Psycholonials in 2023.
