I've been meaning to get into Homestuck for a long time now but I finally got around to read it earlier this year, got a bit obsessed with it, got up to date exactly a week after the last HSBC upd8, and it seems that exactly at that moment all hell broke lose :T like, I know the Homestucks are no strangers to controversy and Massive Chaos but as an outsider I really thought things were getting a bit calmer in recent times... Oh well, either way I'm glad at least I'm here for these forums! And to be completely honest, despite everything I am (VERY cautiously) hopeful for the new series even, and I'm quite excited for what HSBC Act 2 has to offer !!
So yeah, strange times to get into Homestuck
In other words: meow meow
Good to have you as part of the fandom!! Honestly this isn't super out of the ordinary. Due to the stagnation of the fandom it's kinda caused bad actors to become some of the more prominent people around some parts.
@Squiddo I couldn't agree more with that. The stagnation of new Homestuck content has definitely left a handful of people doubtful with the future of Homestuck, especially with the management and state of some of the official sites but now is honestly a fantastic time to see of it's resurgence with the return of HSBC, the FRAF forums officially going up and the announcement of the pilot. Definitely looking forward to the future!
when I properly joined the fandom, it looked like it was dying. at least now it’s definitely alive.
This is some straight up delirious biznasty, Dawg!!
I just got my wife caught up with homestuck too, it's good that more people are getting into it. This kind of thing happens like, all the time. We've kept going through worse. The best thing you can do is just surround yourself with people who aren't weirdly reactionary about the comic, and preferably even people who have actually read the text. It's nice that this forum seems to be so... nice like that. In any case, not as many people seem to be buying into this "controversy" as previous ones. Keep having fun, and ignore the negative people.
