Swans is a band from New York City that emerged in the 1980s from the budding No Wave scene during that time. While the lineup has changed from time to time over the years, Michael Gira has always been the main vocalist and bandleader. Swans has (almost) been consistently releasing music since 1983.
Swans' chrono-discology can be split up into several eras, ranging from No Wave from 1981-86, to goth rock from 87-95, their unique and indescribable Soundtracks for the Blind Era from 96-98, their extremely long song-filled post-breakup trilogy era from 2010-2016, and finally the current experimental ambient-rock Birthing era from 2019-25.
Anyway, my favorite album from the band is their Swans is Dead live album released in 1998. It's pretty much a religious experience for me. Feel free to discuss the band here.

I don't think SFTB being someone's favorite Swans album isn't all that strange. Many critics regard it to be the best in their discography.

Ngl i never thought of seeing a Swans fan on the Homestuck forums of all places.
They are probably one of my fav bands oat, their discography is just so rich and the way Gira writes songs and lyrics stays so marvelously consistent.
I am mostly a fan of their totalism stuff, and my fav album is Live rope by a landslide, its their longest one yeah but ir brings both a spiritual relaxation and mind opening that nothing ever can compare to it
