Text formatting?

Heya, I recently tried to leave a comment on a friend's account with some HTML text formatting, to no avail (i.e. all the HTML shit was still there, text unformatted :/ )

I was wondering, is HTML text formatting at all possible on this site? Or is that not a thing.

Replies with tips, tricks, or any information on text formatting would be greatly appreciated ^^
