the first truly terrible writing decision i think was made in beyond canon

so i was reading beyond canon, and then for some fucking reason, jane showed up in meat. apparently there was some bonus patreon requested story to give jane a magical redemption arc with jasprose, which is seems too fanfictiony for candy, so having in meat was whiplash. it also completely devalues like the entirety of the meat epilogues, like the whole plot besides dirk going to space is completely irrelevant. i dont think jane shouldve been evil in the first place, but at least it made a damn good story when she was.
