There's really only 3 things I can think of as to why it happened, either A.) the official site is almost fixed, B.) the thing someone on the team mentioned about creating an "Official Collection" similar to the unofficial one is almost done, or C.) it's because it hosted a lot of other works Andrew made and that's why he didn't want it up. The last one is almost sorta a little bit understandable (though it's still stupid) but the first two make no sense at all to me, like if shit's almost done getting fixed then why not wait until the official stuff is available again before doing anything about the unofficial stuff, and why even give a fuck about the unofficial stuff in the first place? Sure it's technically your property but to my knowledge the UHC team doesn't make any money off of the project, they just do it because they want people to still be able to access the damn webcomic while it's basically inaccessible in any official manner! And I'm pretty sure they've been working on fixing the website for a while now but when that info comes from an associate rather than yourself and you seem to have no involvement in fixing the website hosting the comic you yourself made and got famous from it reeeaaaally doesn't make you look good in the slightest. I really can't imagine he'd be going after fancomic next since those are all original pieces of media just made off the groundwork of Homestuck and he's always seemed to be pretty chill with fancomics, but I honestly don't know at this point since I'm pretty sure Andrew endorsed the UHC and the team behind it in the past. I've always tried to give him at least some leeway when it comes to making mistakes but this is way more than a mistake. This is him basically telling the community that's formed around his own webcomic and has been alive and active for a whole decade and a half to go fuck themselves cuz he quite obviously just doesn't give a shit.

Probably? I can't imagine anything positive coming with the death of UHSC. Frankly, with that in mind, this website feels less like a forum and a place for fan-creations and more of a gateway for creators to be approved by Hussie. Or just another cash-grab. I am particularly worried about how these, "free licenses" are treated and handled. Anyway, Hussie sucks. I hope this forum can last and survive though, the people here do seem to have a passion for Homestuck and a man-child throwing a tantrum shouldn't change that.

Definitely, this forum so far has been probably the biggest and most active space for people who genuinely love Homestuck and everything related in recent times and I'd really hate to see one man's bitchiness get in the way of it

@fish - ive heard through certain fan channels that homestuck.com is almost back up but thats still no excuse for hussie (or the hicu) to be pulling this shit 💔 shouldve just folded it into an official thing like they said they were doing.

Uhhh, even if the website doesn't work, there are still ways people can obtain the collection without it being officially available. Now, I'm not explicitly advocating anything, but Vriska's aesthetic she chose when Flarping is coming to mind rn.

So I'm going to probably be making a more public statement on this somewhere soon but for now I would like to clarify some basic things:

- The forum is NOT going anywhere.

- FRAF is NOT going anywhere.

- The creators under the FRAF license see a generous majority of the profits on their merch and have not been asked for any royalties or cuts on any other revenue sources.

- I have and will continue to operate FRAF in the best interest of the Fan Creators as my #1 PRIORITY.

- It is not stipulated in my license nor was I ever even asked to consult the HICU on who we nominate for inclusion under FRAF. So far we have done so entirely because we are on friendly terms and I value their input. It isn't social pressure, it's simple voluntary co-operation.

Also! And I told Gio this and he conveniently left this out, we do not run our nominations past Andrew. Only the HICU.

pretty implicit in gios post is that the HICU IS hussie. that seems to be the main point

I'm not finished reading both articles yet but the impression I'm getting is that Gio's believes/knows that the HICU is effectively just a shell that Hussie runs, so wouldn't the fact you only run it by the HICU not matter in that case to Gio? Since running things by the HICU is just running it by Hussie from his perspective. Not saying it'd be fair to leave that info out (I am still reading of course but I don't want to miss this opportunity to ask this question).

I love that someone involved in FRAF literally just said Hussie isn't the HICU and yet you guys are just ignoring it.

Anyway, Unofficial Collection is still up, Gio just took down his branch bc he's stirring shit.

Also, and i've said this elsewhere here already but like. The dude stalked a bunch of trans people and published personal addresses for no reason? Like uh, maybe don't trust him, especially when he has shockingly little evidence in those posts :V
