Who else here has played TC?
If this is somehow the first time you've heard of it, it's one of those kinds of games people often recommend going in knowing as little about the story as possible.
Apart from the sections where you go around exploring the court and talking to characters, the main loop has a match-3 phase where you gather resources and arrange the tiles of the battlefield for a subsequent tower-defense strategy phase. It's a bit like a more advanced version of a game the dev made for Ludum Dare, little BEETLE bottle BATTLE, but in TC the tower-defense part is paused until you're ready to deploy your units, instead of sending them out in real-time.
They put the demo back on steam a few days ago and the save from that carries over, so you can check that out and see if the game interests you.
Me, I just saw a trailer on bluesky, some spoiler-free discussion, and the price while it was still on sale, and thought "you know what, AP Thomson, you have me intrigued. Here's 12 bucks. Do we get to hear you sing more in-game?" (And the answer is yes, by the way)
The soundtrack sort of reminds me of Space Funeral and Hylics.
Anyway, spoiler time
I've reached two endings so far and they both make me sad.
In my first run, I signed Puck's contract and then broke it to ask him the remaining questions. I wonder if this has consequences that can extend to other saves.
There's a door at the end of a maze area that's unlocked by defeating the diregoats and I still haven't figured out how to open it.
