Discussion of any of the sky trilogy, zero/azure, cold steel quadrilogy, reverie, or azure games

honestly the series is so niche i don't know if anyone here but me has played them but thought id make this for funnsies

if the theoretical discussion i doubt will happen happens, try to be spoiler free on any major twists! these games are a lot less fun if you get spoiled!

I started playing through all the games last year. I got through sky fc to halfway through cs2 in about two months because i'm crazy. cold steel 1 is pretty rough and it kinda started burning me out after the peak that is azure, and then just by lack of momentum I ended up taking a big break in the middle of cs2. but I've been playing again recently and remembering how much I love this series. really excited to see what the rest of the games have to offer

olivier makes me feel like i'm watching yaoi in high school again. very funny little man

@runyx personally id recommend playing the sky games before the remakes honestly, the original has a infectious charm that a remake couldn't capture since it smooths out the roughness that the game thrives in

I'd agree with that. the sky games have some issues but are mostly really fun. in particular, the majority of first chapter captures the feeling of being a low level adventurer really really well, it reminds me of pokemon mystery dungeon games. very low stakes, very good foundation building for the rest of the series, and then an ending that ramps things up in a way that immediately makes you want to play the next game.
