i'd argue the greedier side of hussie was laid to rest for a while simply because the amount of interest in homestuck had waned significantly

now that we are getting minimal amounts of growth on this fandom theyre back w/ their greedy bullshit again because now it's ever so slightly profitable again

the unofficial collection was one of the best things to ever happen to homestuck in the modern day :( so sad it was taken down. this really feels like a big "stop having fun" situation

we're discussing this now. in the meantime, keep the vitriol to a minimum. stressing out mods who have no hand in this isn't going to get things sorted. at the very least, don't post death threats, and no, "i want to kill whoever (IN MINECRAFT)" doesn't keep your hands clean.

seeing this is just so devastating, there's no reliable source to read homestuck except for the commentary books which apparently the rest of them are being withheld!? so genuinely frustrating :(.

so like. gio has been kinda shady and full of half-truths and misinformation about this kind of stuff in the past if you just happen to like. talk to anyone who actually has touched HS in a formal manner. why do I have to believe this one in specific when all it has as proof is cropped discord messages which aren’t even from Hussie but claims they are and that Hussie is some kind of shadow puppet master who i guess is hiding behind posting fashion shoots on instagram bc thats really all they do publicly rn. And if you have problems with what’s brought up in the blog post then doesn’t that also mean this entire website/forum/concept is also Corrupt and being Controlled? idk man its a lot of words but im not entirely buying it. Im not saying theres no kernel of truth there im moreso saying i thiiink there might be some very strong biases at play coloring what Actually Happened. it just doesn’t really make sense to me to take all this at gio’s word and no one else’s?? there were clearly multiple people involved why not wait for their side of the story before freaking out?

Are we fucking cursed? Is there like a divine rule that makes it so that nothing good can ever happen to the homestuck community without a sudden, worse corollary also happening.

@autumn - i think people are jumping to gio's side immediately because of all the previous fiascos that hussie's had a hand in. theyd rather trust someone who seems fine (do you have a source for gio being shady btw?) and who did a good thing for the fandom over someone/some team who has had similar controversies in the past. I'll be waiting for the team to address it (since victoria said they would be) but its not looking great.
