I like Synthesized Vocals.
And Gumi. And Teto.
Anyways go crazy. Post songs, fanart, whatever the hell you want.
HAA HAA. HEE HEE. HOO HOO. HAA HAA. HEE HEE. HOO HOO.
getting into vocaloid fairly recently (like, directly before the big Teto Renaissance we're seeing right now) and independently deciding that i really liked Kasane Teto only to discover that The World Has Fallen In Love With Kasane Teto was really surreal. she waited for my approval
anyway ,finally listened to the full Deluxe Edition of Jamie Paige's Constant Companions recently and god that album is so beautiful. obviously Machine Love and BIRDBRAIN have gotten their due but i need one million shipping edits set to Dance Delightful forever
vocaloid my beloved.
ive had BIRDBRAIN stuck in my head for the past week, it's so good. i need to check out that album!
Oh Constant Companions was such a good album. All of Jamie's work is but I don't think there was a single bad song on there. I Wish That I Could Fall was great, but so was Clouddrop, for example. Object of Affection, too!
I'm glad that Jamie used more voicebanks than just Teto and Gumi, too. It feels like with the Teto renaissance, the rest have fallen out of the spotlight. Miku will always be popular, and Neru getting some love with Teto is great! But Rin, Len, Gumi, hell if we wanna dive deep Defoko and Momo probably haven't been used in years. I hope that with the Teto Renaissance that some of the other big UTAUloids get some love.

im still sad that IA died the way she did; i was big into vocaloid during the IA era, so hearing songs with her are v. nostalgic for me. i also like FLOWER a lot, who definitely had a peak in recent years :D NILFRUITS is my fav P generally, so i still get fed well in that regard.
ooh ooh synthv discussion!!! i looove love love yi xi to deathhh and i want ppl to use her more so badlyyyy
i only really see flavor foley getting the spotlight with her when some incredible artists like 11vein have also used her voicebank INCREDIBLY well (salt-wound routine issss uughghfnhjgjgyj)
i will admit i'm a newer vocaloid fan so please be nice to me if there's some popular yi xi tracks i should know about yet haven't discussed ^^;
watch me take my steps (lalulula, lalulula hun) / my journey may be short and sweet (lululu short and sweet) / kindness leads my way (lalulula, lalulula hun, no detours, no detours!)
i loooove vocaloid I've been really into jamie paige recently. ofc. clouddrop makes me sob. but sasakure.UK is probably my favorite vocaP of all time :D
this songs crazy good btw everyone should listen

so glad its immediate to flavor foley/jamie page but lets not forget the ogs like crusherp giga, KIRA.. nobody ive met ever remembers kira but circles and monster were such bangers!!!! (he also worked on daemon/doll with jamie paige)... but my fav song rn is probably monitoring by deco*27... he just has such a way with tuning miku and making beat drops and the amv is just my style and the sooong aaaghh. deco*27 rocks and jamie paige does too
fav utau/synthv/utauloid is xingchen/stardust :) not enough ppl use her but i like to work with ANRI myself!!!!
The Vocaloid thread! I would've been shocked if there wasn't one ^w^
It's so cool to see Yi Xi and Xingchen brought up, there's not nearly enough appreciation for Chinese vocaloids/synthv's imo! I'll have to go with the basic choice and pick Miku for my favourite, though... I just love how so many producers have such different but equally stunning ways of tuning her! Gumi and flower hold special places in my heart, too :)
As far as producers go, I often find myself listening to iyowa, balloon, and john. Nanu Riso is another who I only found recently-ish and deserves wayyy more love than they get!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVQSeYk2WWw
any1 here care about kyo/zola project or laru mine. just curious. they are really good vbs in my opinion.
i don't really stick to one producer. i just listen to whoever is making songs/covers of vbs i like.
Yaaay vocaloid.. I've been a fan for ages, atleast 10years at this point *_* my favorite is KAITO!
my favorite thing is to go onto the #vocanew tag on Twitter and see what new producers works I can find. There's lots with less popular vsynths. If you're a new fan I really recommend it! Those Project Sekai song contests are pretty good too, that's how I found one of my favorite producers, mitsu akuma.
This song by Morishita Utata is one of my favorites.. I can't believe it still hasn't breached 1k views, wtf https://youtu.be/LBJZeXiI3Lw
& this song I originally found thru a random remix https://piapro.jp/t/tCGS
if anyone wants I could link my personal vocaloid playlist, I have like 300 songs on it, it's a big grab-bag of vsynth stuff so it's got big classics and unpopular songs too.
I really like the english producers that are popular now, I feel like for ages all I would see were people that just copied GHOST. And I was never a GHOST fan so it was pretty dire for meee...

Some relatively new inabukamori songs
I don't think they've ever missed on a song.
In other news I've recently been going and looking through JamieP's soundcloud and found some underappreciated songs of hers so uh. go check out this #gay shit https://soundcloud.com/jamieirl/women_wrestling

EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO VOCALOID PRODUCER FERRY
she's genuinely awesome and has read homestuck too.. one of my favorite things about her music is how her tuning is kind of deliberately on the robotic side, it really blends in with the instrumental to the point where sometimes you can't even tell it's in english unless you're paying attention. she has a song series going on called "parties are for losers" that is good and awesome and really well written. it's based on roadside picnic by brothers strugatsky and leans pretty heavily into the post soviet aesthetic if anyone's into that.
oh and also unrelated my fave vocaloid is rana she's so underrated
Can I use this thread to flex that I have Machigerita's autograph? (...bought second-hand?)
The guy that did Dream Meltic Halloween. And Okaasan but I do not like that song and I'm sad it's the only song of his I regularly see people mention.
He's my favorite producer, but he stopped posting Vocaloid works after ~2017. I actually think his best work was his non-vocaloid works, stuff like Machige:BOX (an album of self-covers) or this EP, Sabisuru Koshin https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9FjtlA3PXWc6RfiBmJVNZfxiUCC4r4t- (I need to take photos the lyrics booklet from this and see if I can find someone to TL it..)
If any of you like visual kei, he also had a vkei Vocaloid cover album called I ♥ Visualizm. I don't think the tracks from this are uploaded separately on YT? Maybe I'll have to get on that.
Apparently he's a retired salaryman now. Well.. I'm glad he's alright, I was kind of ready to accept that maybe he died or something.

RIP is pretty underrated, i never see anyone talking about them
A friend has introduced me to VOCALOID stuff recently and I have become obsessed. It has gotten back into making music after years.
I've recently purchased the Teto voice bank for SynthV and I have been working on some covers to get the hang of it. I've been making steady progress, and more importantly, I'm having lotsa fun.

Here's two of my Vocaloid playlists with random songs I found and liked

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkoG5dfL7BCBS84XC1-d2RYqQQfjqJGYB
I unfortunately forgot to make a playlist of my Actual all-time favorites but I'm working on it
Recommended musicians (starting from the obscurest):
noa (@noa0430 on youtube) - great rock
nerdneko (@nerdneko8286) - great shoegaze
namitape (@namitape) - great electronic
Inemuri (@user-JDq5e) - I like his song Urami Koushin a lot
36g - it's hard to find most of his music so heres one of his albums https://youtu.be/K8dXEr9cF74
shima (@shimaofficial) - AWESOME altrocky music that i absolutely adore BUT beware: he switched to making like crappy soundcloud trap in like 2018 so my recc is to just start from the first songs and listen chronologically
Nashimoto Ui (@nashimoto_ui) - Garage rock with a "breathy" Miku, unironically the GOAT of Vocaloid producers
DJ Xaneiro (@d.j.xaneiro) - This is more hip-hoppy than any other in this list, but I enjoy him
Frog96 (@frog96_) - this is where I run out of non-popular producers and start listing popular ones, Frog96 or Furokuro makes cool experimental electronic music
inabakumori (@inabakumori) - I really like NON-USE and An image in the making
Iyowa (@igusuri_please) - very popular, very good, listen to Uwagaki
Kikuo (@kikuo_sound) - my favorite song is Hole-dwelling
Ack, totally missed the new messages here. One day, when we'll be able to follow threads...
re:addictiveCherries, I know of them, but I've only listened to Emotion o Suteru ._. I oughta go back and listen to more of their stuff.
re:onestarspider, I have a bunch more producers to look into now, how exciting ^w^ I'm awful at finding the motivation to get to new music/media lmao but some of these sound pretty interesting!
@onestarspider dude we have really identical music taste, i'll have to look at ur playlist sometime. i'm a massive inabakumori fan ^_^ how did you find the new songs he released the other week?
