I wanted to make a thread like this to just sort of explain my fic, Bloodstuck, to anyone who may have been curious. Bloodstuck is a Homestuck fic on AO3 who's main premise is just simply "What if Sburb were a Rougelite and Karkat had to solo it?" It's inspired by other roguelike dungeon crawlers I've loved in the past, like Cult of the Lamb and Hades.
In the AU there are alternate Sburb game mechanics. For example, there's an in-depth classpect skill tree that the characters will use, weapon upgrades for Karkat so he can solo this whole thing better, and a revive system so that any player can try, try, try again.
While the fic is centered around Karkat, many other characters are also involved with everything. Aside from the very "What if Sburb were a different kind of game altogether," it is also a Blackrom Davekat story, with Rosemary on the side.
Bloodstuck has lots of very exciting things in it, like cool fight scenes, epic monsters, and is just generally a BAMF Karkat fic, so you should read it if you want to see him do cool things like slay monsters.
