do we know if the con air and betty crocker plots will be a part of the show? theyve already cut some copyrighted stuff so idk
by copyrighted do you mean all the jpegs that hussie swiped from google images? probably. as for con air and betty crocker, i think they can reference it without legal issues but i got my law degree from a cereal box so i dont know much more than that
i think theyre more likely to make spoofs , but its a pilot so who knows
Ideally i'd want the copyrighted stuff to remain intact because i think its an important part of homestucks whole vibe but unfortunately we live in hell
i'm thinking they'll get rid of as many copyrighted cultural references as possible while retaining their look and feel. but also i can't imagine they'd completely do away with copyrighted shit (see betty crocker being a HUGE aspect of homestuck Lorewise) but ALSO also:
tl;dr i genuinely have no idea what to expect. just in general.
Heh. Don't "eff" with me if you know what's good for you, kid.
I'm fairly certain it'd fit within fair use but I'm not a lawyer so
if it gets adapted into a full tv series they would probably have to change the betty crocker dicator part. more fun legal things
Okay but like Hazbin Hotel isn't even a full tv series lol Maybe if it gets picked up by a distributor but if its just on youtube I don't think it's going to matter
hazbin is a prime original tho
vriska is awesome
these guys did helluva though right? like i wojld rather see this as a youtube series like that was, so what’s the legal sitch on a youtube animated series depicting copyright

hmm arent copyright/parody laws different everywhere? Spindleroo is the newly forms Australian offshoot studio i mean it probably wouldnt make that much of a difference it might matter more who distributes it if it gets to that point... perhaps a herlock sholmes situation
Well, assuming it stays an internet cartoon, they'll PROBABLY be able to get away with it all, but also just in case, there's some things they might allude to with covers, spoofs, that sort of thing.
Really, it's a 50/50 on pretty much every copyrighted thing, so we'll just have to wait and see.
