The last point n' click puzzle game that I can recall playing was Dropsy about 8 years ago. Actually, I can check Steam. It was Grim Fandango 7 years ago.

Despite the lack of playtime history recorded to back it up, I really do enjoy these types of games. I just got burnt out after getting stumped by a couple of particularly bullshit puzzles in Grim Fandango, the pneumatic tube mailroom coming to mind.

i thought it would work :(, but monkey island is pretty intresting, this guy called vince keeps telling me to play it. So i might at some point

The last one I played recently was actually Return to Monkey Island a month ago, I played most of it on my switch but I recently bought it on PC to complete my collection of Monkey Island games on Steam. I've played through Grim Fandango and thought it was really good, even if it had those kinds of puzzles you wouldn't have figured out without brute force. I'm currently going through the Sam and Max Season 3 remaster since that was my most anticipated game last year.

Grim Fandango is so peak, best Lucasarts game imo

I haven't played that many, but I can see why they went out of fashion. Outside the hands of genuinely funny and intelligent people, they tend to be kind of boring. I'd be interested to know of any non-comedic point and click games that actually manage to pull it off.

I like Grim Fandango. I've played some of Yahtzee Croshaw's adventure games, like 5 Days a Stranger, but I can't remember if they're any good. I tried playing Leisure Suit Larry once and it just wasn't very enjoyable.

i should actually play the monkey island games. i really loved Grim Fandangio... beautiful game. but i do agree some of the puzzles are a bit strange. other than that i think it knocks it out of the park on everything.

I thought the puzzles made pretty good sense for the most part. I'd have to agree with the dev commentary and say that maybe the whole "make Glottis drink liquid nitrogen and vomit to disarm the domino trap" was a little too obscure.

Monkey Island is great, but I also like to dabble into other puzzle adventure games that aren't developed by LucasArts, like The Neverhood and Simon the Sorcerer. My favorites from the past decade though have been Armikrog and Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure.

Oh I LOVE adventure games! LucasArts games are all quite wonderful, I'm a big fan of Sierra games myself even if they can get really esoteric at times.

LucasArts' adventure games are my favorite in the genre, Monkey Island 2, Day of the Tentacle, and Grim Fandango being my favorites. They really shaped my sense of humor and I am always making references to the games even if barely anyone will get them.
