i’m a MASSIVE psych rock fan so heres some of that:

the madcap laughs by syd barrett

no joke my favorite album of all time. barrett was the original frontman/lead guitarist of pink floyd and a straight up genius. this album was released after he was unceremoniously kicked out from the band due to addiction and severe mental health issues taking their toll. it’s an awesome album with fairytale elements and a dark atmosphere. genuinely cannot recommend this album enough.

the crazy world of arthur brown (self titled)

really awesome and absurd psych album. i won’t spoil too much of it for you but it really is a wild ride. the single off of it, fire, literally opens with him screaming ”I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE” it’s fucking awesome. arthur brown himself has a powerful voice and makes sure to use it.

the psychedelic sounds of the 13th floor elevators by 13th floor elevators

CLASSIC american garage psych! this album has a great rock edge to it that i really love. “youre gonna miss me” is like constantly stuck in my head. CONSTANTLY.
