i think this is an interesting question because, while i can't speak to hazbin hotel or whatever's efficacy at musical storytelling, i can imagine this being good, and i think playing more on the existing structures of musicals could be great. with that in mind, i think that page 82 (the note desolation plays monologue) is begging for a kind of subdued, understated "i want" song.
