this is by-and-large about how candy is the "everyone is heterosexually married" timeline, and the false dichotomy of meat/candy turned into the false dichotomy of transitioning/parenthood for roxy, specifically. if you look closely, you can see that every character in the epilogues has a similar choice between "being gay/trans"/forward progress in meat, and "being traditional"/more conservative '''stagnation''' in candy.
